Ah. Well, I haven't posted much at all in quite a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy creating, haha.  Have made plenty of kandi cuffs that i never posted, have drawn a few things, and have been writing up a storm, though i don't currently judge any of the writing polished up enough to put on the site.

I've reached that point with my art that if I don't feel completely 100% happy with what I've made or written, then I'm not going to post it until I get it to that point.  Which may take a while.  Because life is busy.  I've been focusing on the writing more lately, and it all needs so much in the way of editing before I feel comfortable putting it up for peeps to read.  Jackie is the only one who's read any of it, and that's because she and I are co-writing a thing.

With luck!  The way things are going, I should be able to start posting full chapters soon of a three-book fanfic epic that Jackie and I have had in the works for a few years now, haha.  She already made some art for it ages ago.  THOUGH SHE STILL HASN'T POSTED MY FAVORITE ONE YET. -eyeballs Jackie through the skype window-

Rise of the Guardians/Guardians of Childhood.  Hmm, I should talk with Jackie and see if we can get some deleted scenes posted.  We had so many fun ideas to write that just don't fit into the story in any way unless it all takes place after the entire thing is over  I've got a separate document on the side just for these weird and funny scenes, haha.

And, nice! Perhaps you could post sort of a compilation/collection of those "deleted scenes", after you've posted the main/core story? Otherwise, yes, I think it'd be a great idea to find some way to share those, too, with the readers

Some of them I already did, though Asphodel's backstory seriously needs to be scrapped and re-written, Kaine's backstory is completely fine as is (though it could use some polishing...) and both the 'Valentine's Day Cards' and 'It Burns' scenes have been changed from 'deleted scene' status to 'now in the story proper' status.

There is one though we had planned out about an elaborate April Fool's Day prank that pretty much everyone took part in... and another where the apprentices are all playing horror games and Pitch keeps showing up at the most opportune times to scare the crap out of them and get them killed in-game.  Not to mention Sydney's unholy retribution against Elisa, Kaine, Jamie and Kris for constantly booby-trapping her room.

Guess you never quite know what will or won't be a "deleted" scene, until you finish your final draft of the project, eh?

Yeah, we HAVE been working on it for a while, after all.  And even though it's a fanfiction, as the story goes we slowly push the canon characters out and it becomes mostly our original characters.

This is true.  Some previously deleted scenes became canon, and some previously canon scenes became deleted.  Maybe I should save publishing deleted scenes to just the ones that don't fit with the story line, and any others will have to wait.

Sounds good. I bet making say a movie goes pretty much this same way, as the writers, director, etc. decide what to put in vs cut out.

oh man, this story has changed so much over the years.  What was originally a simply fanfic turned into a three-book epic XD  Hopefully in the end it becomes as popular with other people as it was with us while we made it ._.

Oh man, you've got no idea the pain writers go through.  Writing the story, screaming at the page at your characters of "WHY WON'T YOU DO THE THING?!", agonizing over how long you've been staring at an empty or unchanged page of text, trying to come up with ideas to make the boring parts cool so there are no boring parts... and then the editing. Editing, and editing, and editing again, to the point you become sick of your own creations, and you still edit.  add a scene here, move this scene here, delete this entire damn chapter, omg why the plot holes, and still more editing and eventually you just want to light it on fire.... so you look for someone else to help you edit, and then you think they become biased to your creation so you don't take them seriously when they say it's awesome, or denying everything they say bad about it if they don't like it.  The coffee and sugar levels, the sleepless nights, the characters invading your brain during the day when you are trying to work, the obsession and constantly talking about them to other people for over a year.... and still more editing.

And finally, FINALLY, you are done... be it fanfiction to go on the internet, or original works that you intend to get published.  and the crushing defeat you feel when someone else ends up not liking your story and you just sit there thinking "I put ALL THIS TIME AND EFFORT into this baby of mine, and you say it SUCKS?!?"

Yeah...it's horror, lol.

Oh, but I do have an idea. I too am a bit of a writer Not as avid though as you seem to be, so I admire your dedication, and all the hard work you clearly do put into everything

Ugh, yes... That has to be the single hardest part of being not only a writer, but an artist/creative individual of any sort...

Haha, the ideas of writing I have come from a few years of doing NaNoWriMo and from having a few friends that are published authors.  I've never actually published anything myself, even though I have a few original stories in the works.  Anything anyone ever sees from me comes in the form of fanfic.
