But not to fear. There’s a good chance we’ll never make our destination, but since this whole flight metaphor is just a weak attempt at a humorous anecdote, I don’t think that’s going to be a problem. Ah damn, I just shattered the illusion by crashing through the 4th wall.

I’m sure you regret your choice by now, considering this madness is basically what you signed up for, but since all tickets are non-refundable, welcome to Crazytown. Quarantine measures come into effect upon arrival. 
On a more serious note, here’s basically the run down. Posting regularly (fingers crossed), free funny stories in almost all fav replies, and an intro to Kevin the Llama in the Llama Badge reply. Also, if you haven’t already heard, I’ve been designated Kevin Llamason’s official biographer, so you can check out what he’s been up to in The Kevin Chronicles. (Unfortunately “The Kevin Chronicles” are currently on hiatus, while Kevin gets a handle on his pinecone addiction. In the meantime I hope to experiment with a new format in the near future, so keep an eye out for that)

mmm how about applying at a normal salon but mentioning you have experience as a manicurist: that way some salons see your passion plus grant them an opportunity to get ahead of competition? Never hurts to try honbun 😁

Salons here want you to already have a clientele built up. I want to just do independent work until I can pay off student loans and pay to go to nail tech classes.

mmm how about starting out by doing friends, their families and family members first. Soon as their friends ask, "Wow! Love your hair!" and your friend says her personal stylist being you did, you'll soon have more clients than minutes in a day. Customer service and satisfaction is paramount and always your primary objective honbun; nail that and you're set.

I know hon, but I was thinking on how you can get started; lots of employers love those who offer them extra skills as it saves them outsourcing or paying for training. You're also likely to be asked to do hair too. Is it a nail technician who does everything? Manicure, nail care and polish/paint nails?

Yea, they do pedicures too. Also, I don't mind doing color, I just don't like styling hair. I have supplies to do bleaching at least, no colors yet, so if I can get clients who want to go blonde then I can build up a clientele and get hired. Like I said, they want me to already have clients first in order to hire me, which is somewhat counterproductive to me. If I already make money doing independent work where I'm in charge of my own prices and how much I profit, then why would I need to start working for someone else at theirs and probably not make as much?

mmm wonder if it's the- she needs clients who come here for her making us money; mentality. Does sound odd otherwise. Self-employed all pay is yours and once bills are paid then profit, downside you need keep your own records for tax payments. Employed has the opposite, less weekly pay but no overheads (bills) or tax forms to complete... it is a tough choice but should we go self-employed look up any funding or support you can get; every little bit helps honbun

I will keep that in mind. I started keeping receipts for things I bought for school, so I can do the same for business so I can write them off as business expenses.

exactly, plus it's a useful habit to have. Next thing, check for suppliers- you will need them later and best to have a list ready. Have you got an advert ready? They help a ton especially when you feel ready to look into a salon of your own

I have suppliers on my Instagram, and I have professional sites bookmarked. I don't have any advertising but I do upload what I do. I just uploaded on my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter a makeup application I did today. So that's the closest to advertising I have.

mm you could sell them on eBay or Amazon for a much wider audience as Facebook can be limiting in the sense it doesn't often advertise internationally just your local area just use a Patreon for help with it all 😊

I've no changes heh. I'm back for my second half of my course though, enrolment is tomorrow between 9 am and 7 pm which is ossum as my resits are 10 am finish at 11 am then a break and then the second one is another hour. I can always do the enrolling either between them or after the second depending on how long the break is

😆 now that's bordering on RP I had on WoW years back where my mage Caliope was having tea with Nanexia Fenri. Light chat about being lazy and Nanexia said she could write a book about it. "Except you would be far too lazy to write one word sister." Cali remarked, laughing and poured more tea. We drove some Blood Knights (we were both Blood Elves sitting in our capital Silvermoon) nuts as they were trying to get us to help move prisoners along but both felt that required too much energy xD

Not too bad so far, the first assignment is pretty easy the second one's going to be a bitch 😋. I just missed passing my Networking exam as my theory was just short of netting me the marks needed for a full pass- 8 marks short and that was my resit too heh

I was told that provided I can pass the last three modules the education authority called University of Wales, Trinity St. David; would consider me as having passed the course in its entirety. So I still need to work hard xD as I failed my resit by 8 marks and my first try was a disaster 😊
