Yup, perfect characters are annoying.
That's probably why I don't really like Lloyd or Jude, they are blinded by love (yep that kind of love is annoying too) and they begin as "perfect" hero...Like...they don't have any problem with killing human beings? O.o'
For Yuri, it's different, he was a soldier in the past, and it seems almost normal for him to kill people like that. Yup, I love Yuri too, he was the hero of my first Tales of, sooo.

One thing for sure, Luke is the most human tales of character. And I think that's one of the numerous reasons why he is so loved! Also, like you said earlier, his chara development from a spoiled brat to a real hero is really great!

uhm, actually i am not a tales fan for a long time and i only know Luke and Lyold. sorry^^
when i said cold character, i mean Cloud from Final Fantasy VII he's cold, *whisper*andalittlefreak*whisper* or Lightning from FinalFantasy XIII
i like a main chara with character development. it's make the game more fun.
another thing i like about luke is how he still the same. i mean he still carefree, blush when with tear, or comment on how meany Jade is^^
he's not turn into Hero's Mode and always think he need to save the world like some other character.^^

Yaaay, I love that too! To see the character "grow" is a really good thing, most of the time, you get to really like that character. :3
