Thank you very much! I appreciate the feedback. It's been so long since I went out and took pictures. I'd like to think I have learned a lot about shooting/angles/lighting since then, but I guess we'll find out if I ever get outside, lol.
Hopefully I can get back in to photography soon! I've definitely been slacking. Do you take pictures? What kind of art do you enjoy?

Wow....I read your Autism Angel story, it made me cry! My son is Autistic, and I can't imagine ever leaving him despite the challanges we have with him. Thanks for posting that story! It was amazing!

First, I am very sorry about the delay in saying thank you. I haven't been online much this summer and unfortunately, I've been neglecting this site.
All I have to say is you have NO idea how much it means for you to say you loved my story, especially coming from someone who experiences autism on a day to day basis. I commend you; I read so much about parents leave children because of their disabilities, and it makes my heart hurt.
I admit, as I wrote the story, I cried - it all came about from seeing an autistic boy at the fair trying to tell his mom something and she couldn't understand. As he became more and more frustrated, my heart just broke because he couldn't express himself. His father was actually the one trying to understand him as his mother became extremely mad and walked off. Thank you x1000 for your comments; I am so glad you liked it.

I really did enjoy your story, and honestly I've forwarded it to a few friends of mine, even though they don't have any kids (let alone any autistic ones!) it's just such an amazing story that I had to share it. I'm pretty lucky, when I think about it, my son isn't really all that bad (I don't mean bad as in "BAD", but bad as in farther down the Autistic scale) He's really delayed in the speech and recognition department, but his motor skills are decent. The worst part is his appetitie...he is the pickiest eater I have ever come across, his diet consists of about 20 different things, but that changes quite frequently. It breaks my heart when he's trying to communicate with me, trying to tell me what he wants or needs and when I can't give him what he's asking for, for whatever reason, and he doesn't understand...it's very hard. What pisses me off is when he gets upset while we're out in public (that doesn't piss me off) but when people walk by and give us dirty looks, or when little old ladies whisper to each other and look at my upset little boy... that's when I get angry and start to tell people off and to mind their own fu*king business! Anyways, I'm ranting...but thanks for sending me a reply, I know what you mean about being busy and not always being able to come on here and reply to messages! Take care, and I hope to talk to you again soon!

I completely understand about the ranting and it pissing you off - that's actually how/why this story was written (I can't remember if I had mentioned this before). I was at an art show and we watched as a lady walking by was trailed by a screaming boy - maybe 7 or 8? She had his hand and he was forcibly trying to get free but he just kept screaming - people were making comments about how bad he was and how she was a horrible mother, etc. I watched as they passed and a lady next to me knew them; she told me that it was his mother and he had autism...couldn't communicate well but would constantly try to using hand movements.
It hit me really hard that there were these intelligent and loving kids out there, stuck in their own mind, with no way to escape. I'm sorry that you have to live this; be strong and I love seeing how much you care for your son.

Hello again! I keep apologizing because it seems as of late that I am neglecting this site, and the internet! I understand completely what you mean as far as not being angry in public, but that how people react make you angry. I will admit, I was puzzed when I saw a boy screaming at his mother, and she was pulling him along; I was thinking she was being cruel. An older lady saw me looking, and said he had autism, and it seemed to click. Shortly after, I went home and wrote this story. I have always been fascinated by autism and communication disorders as a whole; it's a spectrum that doctors, as much as they want to, truly cannot understand. How old is your son, if you don't mind me asking? It's okay, you can rant anytime - I do it a lot too! I appreciate your forwarding the story - it means a lot to me for someone who actually has a direct relationship with autism to think it's pretty great. I was worried people would be upset by it, to be honest, so I never showed it to anyone outside my creative writing class - but they seemed to enjoy it. I figured - what the heck - post it online. Thank you soooo very much, again. )

I'm only 943 years late in saying thank you! I joined the site and then unfortunately - let it go fallow before picking it up again. Where in ND are you?

Well thank you! I'm glad to see there are others in this cold, frost bitten land that is North Dakota. I'm glad I discovered this site, although I've noticed I've become entirely too addicted. Oh well, there are worse things to be a slave to!
