Ok first your into RPG wow geek love over hear. Warhammer space marine is cool havent played the RPG just the xbox version. Second your very funny. And I have to say I could never go three weeks without fixing my washer grrr. But on the good side you may have spent 16 dollars but you could put all your clothes in the wash at once and then dried all of them at once saving you hours which I am sure your time is worth waaaaay more then 16 dollars. I can see why you would wash your clothes ( I am allergic to cats but I am sure you smelt just fine and snuggles smells great too lol. And I am a strange and a wonderful person so thank you ;-p

Haha I feel like I'm starting my own little nerdz r us channel. Everyone I'm talking to today has been about that at some point. I love it And thank you, you're right about my time and that's a much better way to look at it. Also, I assure you they were certainly very smelly but I appreciate the sentiment

Apparently you like Doctor Who, D&D, and Star Wars. That alone deserves a watch since I've been watching the first for years (my favorite series), have been playing 3.5 for longer, and am already the head a guild for the Old Republic, since that's bound to ruin my life once it comes out.
You're also a fantastic model, but I feel like that doesn't need to be said since it's so obvious. Keep up the amazing work!

Wow, thank you very much! I play more Pathfinder recently, and am also registered for a guild in Old Republic and have been playing the beta on a friend's account. But you didn't hear that from me

Of course! You're stunning.
Some of my friends are trying to get me into Pathfinder and White Wold, but I'm pretty dedicated to 3.5 and World of Darkness. To be honest I haven't even looked at the former two. How is it?
Damn you for playing the Beta. Haha. My computer got excluded because too many people have my specs and my life has been somewhat empty ever since.

Oh no! That's a shame. I'm having so much fun with a Jedi knight. And Pathfinder is very similar to 3.5 but with some improvements. I feel like it's what 4.0 should have been. But instead they did that silly miniatures game. I'm really getting into the advanced classes now. I'm playing a witch in one game and I'm planning on killing off my ranger in the other so that I can roll an inquisitor. The APG classes are incredibly complex to set up but it makes them so much more customizable! For example, the witch has both spells to memorize, and hexes that work like a sorcerer's spontaneous cast spells. In addition to feats and a patron theme that gives you an addition spell every 2 lvls and the familiar with a bonus to some save or check depending. It's a fantastic class working in a well designed game system. I can't wait to try the rest of them out

I'm going to be running a Bounty Hunter as my main on a RP server. Not sure what specs I'm going, but I'm thinking heavy AoE and DoT with lots of fire.
That sounds way more interesting than I was led to believe, since it's somewhat familiar. I generally DM due to my inability to stop writing, but I'm kind of notorious for having either ridiculously silly campaigns (where one of my players burnt down half of a continent at level 3 because he was an idiot) and super-serious RP ones.
A combination of memorized, spell-book spells and spontaneous casting sounds REALLY interesting. I'm assuming the memorized ones are generally more powerful?
When I play I almost invariably go Cleric of War/Protection or a multiclassing Bard/Sorcerer with a specialization in animating objects and buffing them with war drums.

The Bounty Hunter sounds great! That's the way that I'd go too. I'm planning on trying a Smuggler with a similar style next.
As for the witch, the spells and hexes are pretty evenly matched. Some spells are strictly utility as are some hexes. Right now at lvl 1, I have the prehensile hair (1 d3 and int=str) and cauldron (brew potions of spells I can currently cast) hexes. I only have 2 of them because I'm human and took one of my feats as the extra hex feat (which I can keep taking). My spell list is a pretty standard 1st lvl caster list. A handful of 0 lvls and 6 1st lvls. Though the book would only have let me take 2 or 3 1st lvls, my GM wanted me to have more so I do. But only for this lvl and then my rate of increase proceeds as normal. And like all good casters at the beginning, I'm using my crossbow most of the time
I haven't tried my hand and GM yet. I think I could make a decently creative game. Or at least a game world. I'll just have to put something together and give it a go one time and see how I take to it. ^_^

Smuggler looks great, but I don't think I could roleplay one any differently than Han Solo, since that's exactly what I think of when I imagine that class. It would be almost impossible for me to not make 'shoot first' jokes.
I've always loved changing modifier things like Weapon Finesse (my bard relied on it), so that prehensile hair thing sounds pretty interesting. Making spells into later-use potions sounds powerful, too. I generally do the same 'extra stuff' thing as your DM, especially since my worlds are generally unforgiving and level 1 characters have a life expectancy of one session unless they pack a little extra oomph.
You should definitely try it out. I used to play until I got my hands on a premade module and gave DMing a shot. It can really be fantastic if you're willing to put in the extra planning.
I live in southern New York, right outside the city, but there are surprisingly few players in my area.

Hahaha I like to refer to that as Solo-sydnrome. It happens to the best of us in RPG's. ^_^
And so far, I haven't needed to use the hair. It's a 10ft range and I got it just to have something to save my ass in melee, should it ever come down to that. But it does sound really cool, and I simply love the whole idea of it.
And I really am starting to think I'm gonna give GM a try. You've inspired me I've always been pretty good at short stories and never very good at fleshing out long ones. But I have some great ideas and the party would keep it moving forward with their decisions and roll playing. I'm going to start writing them down and work on it. Thanks for that!
I'm living in south Jersey right now and there's a bunch of people that play down here. Though most of the groups I know are unreliable and go through games like Vader went through commanding officers.

NexusYuber In reply to MyStrawberryRainbow [2011-10-02 20:12:45 +0000 UTC]
That's exactly what I used Weapon Finesse for. My Bard/Sorcerer mainly animated stuff to go attack things for him (specifically a giant turret made of 60 magic missile wands that shot all at once and couldn't miss), but I had a longsword that would have otherwise run off of strength to save me from those few monsters that couldn't get hurt by magic. Attacking with hair is much cooler, though, especially if they were dreadlocks. While that hairstyle definitely isn't my thing, getting slapped by a dread would be one hell of a way to die.
Glad to hear that I've helped to turn you on to the wonderful world of DMing. Short modules are the best for when you start. They're easily, can have a set plot, and you can run through them in 1 to 4 sessions depending on how well your group sits still. If you ever want to run ideas by me, I'm more than happy to give you an opinion! I might just tell you to add silly traps, though, since that's definitely my thing.
South Jersey? I have a condo right off of exit 1 in Wildwood, if that's anywhere near you and you know the area. I love the drive, too. I wish I had that kind of source to tap into. Around here I get a few regular players but none of them can sit still for more than five minutes at a time. Haha. 7-11 runs are an hourly affair. I'm hoping that Comic Con, which I'm going to in two weeks time, will introduce me to some new players.

If ever there was a place to find a new gaming group, that would be it! You could walk around with a sandwich board around your neck asking for new gamers or experienced old ones looking for another group. ^_^ Although, the con would probably stop you as soon as they saw it.. I'm pretty sure you have to get a permit or something to advertise anything at these shows.
And unfortunately, I'm on the side closer to Philly. Actually I'm 15 mins from Philly. One of the gaming groups I spoke of is there. But it's one of the not so great ones that gets bogged down with people who just come for the food or to dick around and aren't really getting anywhere game-wise. I'm trying to get the one good guy from that group into my A team. It's just a matter of getting my other friends to accept someone new.

NexusYuber In reply to MyStrawberryRainbow [2011-10-03 21:11:27 +0000 UTC]
This is the first time I've ever been to a Con, so I really don't know what I'm doing. I've done a LARP before, so I know the general rules to some costuming ideas, but beyond that it's all new to me. I think I'm just going to take a ton of pictures of people and feel my way around until I find a group who looks like they're interested in starting a campaign or something. I'm also big into Magic: the Gathering, so I'll be keeping an eye out for that, too.
That's roughly an hour away from the area of Wildwood where my place is, I believe. I'll probably see about tapping into local groups when I go down there during some weekends.
People who siphon the energy and continuity from the group are really tough players to like. I see the need for relaxing sometimes and taking things a little less seriously here and there, but when that's all that people do, it's no longer entertaining. I definitely hope you can wrangle that guy out of his other group and get him into yours.
