Yeah, I agree, out of all the places I've lived, Florida has been the best. I only hope in the future Georgia is going to be as good, (I want to work for Cartoon Network so bad! ).

Thanks for asking. It's a disease related to scleroderma; an auto-immune disease that causes the body to produce an overabundance of collagen, creating scar tissue, hardening the soft tissues of the body, and eventually the internal organs. Scleroderma literally means "hard skin." Eosinophilic Fasciitis on the other hand, does the same, except it doesn't attack internal organs, the collagen settles in the fascia, or the layer of tissue between the skin and muscle. Also, unlike scleroderma, it doesn't affect the face, hands and feet, though the tightening of my arms has caused my hands to have a condition called claw hands, which is exactly how it sounds!

It's not fatal, per se, but they do say that after a long time(10 years usually), the prolonged damage to the immune system can rarely result in lymphoma or lieukemia. The non-Hodgkins version of lymphoma is the most prominent side effect.

The disease and scleroderma too in fact, mostly affect women over the age of 40, and occurs rarely in children. Patients my age, 18 at the time, is even more rare. Add to that the fact that unlike most, the fasciitis occurs from my chest to the top of my feet.

Usually steroids work, but if they don't (like me), treatment goes to immunosuppressants, and eventually in rare instances, a bone marrow transplant; which has already resulted in 2 deaths. Being on immunosupressants has made me personally vulnerable to infections which I contracted a staph infection 3 years ago, which because of my medicine and disease, I am still battling. Only once though, has my life been endangered because of it. In other words, while the disease is not fatal, the medicine may be.

It was discovered in 1975, and by 2002, there have only been over 200 cases. It's a disease that does not have much research because it is so rarely known. So I'd like to spread the knowledge in hope of getting more understanding. I'm glad to share that with you. Sorry the answer's so long!

Here's a short answer though; the disease is easy to remember if you break down the words. "Eosinophilic"="eosinophils" are part of the immune system that among other jobs, helps in the production of scar tissue, fight parasites, and is involved in allergic reactions somehow. "Fasciitis"=of course, "fascia", which you know. So basically it means, the immune system is attacking the fascia. There, now you know more than most doctors I've met!

You know, sometimes I wish I had a more interesting story, but it's more innocent than that! Actually, it began as "Lady D", a name I adopted as Lady Death, in death matches with my brother on the N64 game Goldeneye. When that was already taken I began to think "Mistress" because now the Lady has gotten older and plus it is a name of a Disturbed song. So that's what the D can stand for; death, disturbed, or anything you like! I like to use it describe the many moods of myself, dark, depressing, dorky or even demure, so on.

Y'know, the same old stuff. I'm feeling better, but still quite overwhelmed, and frankly frustrated. I can't seem to find my Photbucket account to post more in the forum! Well i've been overworked and are pretty mad at the moment cause i need free time to draw the damn load of ideas that have been coming to my mind.

What're you confused about? Maybe I can help. If it's the fan-fic thing, same rules and prizes apply. And there will be 3 winners who write fics as well, who will have the same prizes. So basically, there will be 2 people for each prize. As for the chracters, I outlined all the details I have in my descriptions, if you want more you should read the fics.
