Uh...no, I'm actually leah94 but I was best friends with Sayoshie and I knew her IRL. Technically I still know her but we aren't really close anymore.

You are beautiful and if you are not good enough drawing, try hard and harder and then harder, always everyone begins like that! COME ON! I read your journal entry and, well... I can't say I blame you for being unhappy with dA. The pressure is big, especially if you follow a lot of very good/professional artists, but I have learned something about uploading things on dA. If you upload things that do have a personal meaning to you-- even if it's not necessarily a dear personal meaning, but it's just something you like or enjoy doing, then you'll eventually attract people who enjoy the same things you do. Whether that's animals, a fandom, a style of writing, etc. Go find groups relevant to those interests and participate in them. Initiate conversation with people who like the same things you do. Yeah, it's intimidating as heck,but things can pan out in the end. Just take a leap of faith, you know?

I've yet to find a popular person on dA who is popular because of doing things they didn't like. (Don't give in to negative peer pressure! ) So maybe just start out by carving a little niche within an area you enjoy! Yeah, it's going to take time. Maybe it'll take a long time. Still, it's better to take a long time doing things you enjoy rather than taking a long time struggling with things you don't enjoy.

I'd do things I enjoyed if I knew what I enjoyed. There's subject matter I like, but I've yet to find the one thing that's really me, something I can fill up my whole gallery with. It's just a bunch of randomness now, a little bit of everything and nothing that is really me. I'm going through a major identity crisis right now Sweating a little... Thank you for the advice though, I do appreciate it.
