I think it would work best that way. Fire Emblem sprites aren't really unique. You could have three characters who by their icons are different, but their sprites look the same.

And I've been doing okay. Nailed a test in one of my classes a day ago, getting ready for Spring Break, and working on various character concepts for various series. I'm still debating on whether or not I should continue trying to make a non-Mary Sue-ish Red-Eyes wielding FC for Yugioh or not, due to my pretty strong attachment to the card.

Also been working on my team in Pokemon Y. While I have decided that I'll probably re-create my mono-Fire type team, I am considering on whether or not I should upgrade Charmeleon to Mega Charizard Y. I'd probably go for the shiny variation, despite the cliche, since it would remind me of Red-Eyes a bit.

Nailing tests are good. Shows you're working well at studying.
I'd say go for it. I can finish developing my character and we can create a story for them to be in together. That way, you'd have one person to use him with.

And yeah, I guess it is pretty good.. And I didn't know you were making a character for that fandom as well. I'd prefer if we compared notes there if we're going to go down that route, since I was planning on making way more than one character for that series and to make my own little set of stories for them. *Shrugs*

My character might take a while to develop. I haven't been in the mood recently. Kind of more focused that is down for March break. So I might not even get much drawing in. lol

Gotcha. Well I do appreciate the support, but to be honest I've gotten a bit more comfortable with my Barrel Dragon deck, and Cayden probably has as good of a story as it can get. Besides I'd always be tempted to give a more "evil royal" dynamic to a Red-Eyes wielder, but that would be a bit cliche and similar to Kaiba's story, so Cayden's definitely the way to go. Which is funny since he isn't even going to be the main character, let alone protagonist. He's just the first villain.

I can imagine that if you'd want to have your character use a water based/Atlantis related deck, you could always have a deck revolving around this card: img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20…

And yeah, it is going to take some work.. but you'd be a bit pleased with the progress I have gotten so far.

And you'll probably have to do a little bit of studying at one point or another just to see it all come together. I mean I'm going to have to do the same with each character's decks, so if you'd like to have a few friendly matches on Dueling Network that would be a great way to see how all of the decks can be practically used.
