2005 Fall Term? I was there and I definitely don't remember that (sorry, Jann). o.รด

Of course, being a Product Designer at the time I can conveniently blame the toxic fumes from the model shop area for my apparent memory loss. ;D

Anyway, hi. Always good to see other students on this site~

:\ No... the orientation based on major came afterwards. The auditorium was for all new students. (It's hard to remember that many introductions in a row, probably.) :รž

Missed you much;

And still do! I'm taking the summer off, want to go to workshops together over the summer?

What? I never got around to finishing my portfolio; out of 20, I only have 2 done, and I have work to do for 6 hours because I have to pay off $6000 before I can go back to ACCD. Why do I have 2 pages of my new portfolio done? Because I was trying to find ways to pay off that said debt; Loans didn't work because I didn't have a job and I always was "oh, I thought I needed to do my portfolio since I was going to Bob Kato's workshop, since my characters are crap, and my drawing skills are shitty, and I just finished my 4th term." to have one in order to get approved for a loan, which I wasn't and neither did my cosigners, scholarships never answer, just like how God never talks to atheists.

Well, I just got the idea of getting a job, right after I realized that my parents, who constantly said "Oh, don't worry about your loans, we'll do it for you!" can't be depended on, because I should be the one who should take care of things that depend on me, and so I took a job. Their reaction: "Good job, son; why didn't we think of that sooner?"

Besides, I'm 20 years old. That's sad, you know, when I don't even have any working experience just because my parents were always expecting the ideal situation for me to work. "Oh, son- you'll only work when you earn $5,000,000,000,000 an hour!"

And you know what, it's a life lesson, and I'm glad I wasn't 30 when I learned it. (Besides, they were thinking of how children had to sell chicklets in the Philippines when they hear me say "I want to work!")

Well, to prove them on how right they were on their style of parenting and their belief that I was still that little child that they fed too much, I let them do all the work, and when it's the last moment (i.e. when I was expecting the loan to be paid off and they still don't have anything to show for their promises) I finally gave up on depending on them and said "You know, I'll work just like you; I'll take the train so that no one would pretend that everyone's okay with me waiting for someone to pick me up, especially in this heat." You see, with the gas prices, being a motorist sucks. And I got my driver's license, and I don't have a car, and I don't intend to drive a car unless someone is willing to pay for everything about it now until it basically becomes obsolete, because people are such geniuses at driving and cars in general piss me off, especially since I'm going to a school where people who know how to draw a car that looks like the same damn car that the other guy drew get high-paying jobs more easily than I, or most people in the world.

Lesson from Epictetus: There are things that you can and cannot control; stop blaming others for things that you can influence.

My reply: I didn't choose to be born, yet I exist. To exist means having to bear whatever living entails, but I cannot blame anyone if I am unhappy, because I am the one having the emotion, therefore I ought to do what I can and work so that I can be content with my life, and be untroubled by terrible things that aren't my doing.
