# About me
About me: I'm a product designer who always wanted to draw for comics and science fiction. I absolutely love black and white very old traditional illustration. I would say that my main influences in drawing and inking would be all the great Filipino artists of the 60s-90s. People like Alex Nino, Ernie Chan, Alfredo Alcala, and Rudy Nebres. In truth, there are too many to name here in just my little bio. I got in to comics because of my dad and his desire that I learn to enjoy reading. The deal was that as long as I was reading, he'd buy me any comic book I could find. From there, I started drawing, and I think the rest is just probably the same story as everybody else. I work as a product designer now for my day job, and I'm on here to meet more like minded people, to share and to be inspired. I'm just thankful that there is a website like this to share and do this kind of communicating. If you have any comments or questions, or you just want to tell me I'm a hack, feel free to e-mail me.

Ha! "No Country for Old Men" was a great movie. I read you went to the Joe Kubert school?

That's very cool. I always wanted to go and learn some good skills and processes on exactly how to write and draw a comic. I ended up going in to product design instead at the University of Cincinnati. Have you created any comics on your own or are you working on any as a personal project? I'm working on something, but my time get's taken up with work, and I have trouble getting motivated.

Yeah I'm constantly working on stuff. Right now I'm working on a series of paintings, and I am going to color my buddy's creator owned comic which is exciting - I love indie stuff the most. I do work for big companies too from time to time

You coloring are absolutely amazing. Very thought out and deliberate. I sadly, was never a huge "understander" of color. I can basically "document" color in my drawings and I can depict color and certain effects, but as far as knowing "what" color to use, or how to use it for dramatic effect, I'm pretty much not skilled in that. I'm "okay" when it comes to black and white, but if I had to color something in a story, I'm sure it would come out mostly flat.
I like detail and really putting a lot in to a page/drawing, but I'm getting the feeling that big publishers aren't willing to pay for such labor. Have you or your friends who do this for a living thought about this?

Note to anyone who knows how to paint digitally. I would absolutely be willing to send you a hi rez bitmap of any of my drawings for you to put color to. You can even show it in your portfolio and claim shared ownership. I would just love to see one of them colored.

My purpose it's to create an horror comic book, like Alan Moore's Swamp Thing or Necronomicon or Providence, you know. I've a proposal ready to send at various publishers, Ametican and Eurpoean. So, at moment, i need only model sheet of the characters, and (but not necessarly) two or three complete sequential pages.
What's your price for that? In case the publishers accept the proposal, are you interested to do core art for the series?

So, something like Steven Bissette for pencils. Very loose and squigally? I think 275.00 US$ a page, penciled and inked would be fair. I'm not very good at lettering though. You'd need someone for that as well. I can block it all in though.

And for the model sheets of characters?

Multi-view turnarounds I do for toys take about a day to do for each one. I'd say 250 per. But that would be sketched and inked, 11"x17". Are you wanting them very tight. Here is a link to my online "designer" portfolio. It can show you what I mean.

Not so detailed as for toys; i think two or three headshots in various positions and only one complete figure for every charcters. Actually they were four principal.

Have you "cast" the characters any? Are they to resemble real people or are we inventing completely new people.

I've cast the characters, yes... In the proposal, i've done a complete description of anyone of them with the actor/actress who get the role.

Would you want the turnaround drawings inked to set the style or just a clean sketch?

A good and clean sketch.

Well, then that's very different. I think a sketch of a character's standing body, with some faces say three to four facial expressions would be just a hundred a sheet. I think that would be fair. But in truth, it might be easier to just put together a sheet with a photo from a fashion magazine for the outfit, and then have a few headshots of the actor or actress that you want to cast. But either way. We could do the either way.

The outfits are very particular, so i've write a brief description of them. The model will be released in this way.. Before i write anything, i begin with the cast of characters and some other photos regarding the outfits. That's my work method.

Well, I appreciate the interest in me, but I don't think I would be a great pick. My motivations right now are very low, and I would not want to waste your time. You project deserves someone very excited and enthusiastic, which at the moment I'm not that very. I'm on here to share and maybe get some inspiration from other posters and to try to rekindle my enthusiasm for storytelling, but right now, I think all I'm good for is "sketchbooking." Thank you though for the thought. I hope you find someone who can get more behind it who is looking for such a great opportunity.
Best regards.
