Yup yup, i use portable paint tool sai for coloring and shading and lining and and all that, and when I wanna due backgrounds with just randoms stuff and brusehs I use photoshop elements which came with my tablet.
I use onta's brushes for everything, such awesome brushes to line with.
And I do have a tablet, I have a bamboo fun medium, but before I used to use my mouse for everything before I got a tablet, I've only had a tbalet since 10th grade I think.

The pros for a tablet is the fact that it seems more personal than anything else. You get to draw like how you would on a piece of paper, and best thing is you have so many wonderfull options on photoshop and sai with brushes and lines and shading techniques.
With a tablet you also have pen pressure which I absolutly adore and I feel makes art look ten times better.
The con's for me would that sometimes your tablet dies out. Mine hasn't done that yet, but it has lost conenction probably about 20+ times in the 3-4 years I've had it. I easily got it back by restarting my computer though. Depending on what kind of pen you have, the nib might give out faster if you're more likely to press hard...lucky for me my dad went on a spree and bought me 50 nibs....I only finished one nib in the 3 years I had it xDD it'll last me a bloody lifeitime lmfao.
Other then that, the tablet is an amazing tool to have and I can't say I can really find any cons about it..
More precision then if you had a touch pad or mouse.

Okay thank you so much @_@ ha! That is a lot of info but it's what I needed. I'm kinda sick of having to ink my drawings because, hell, my inking is nothing to brag about and I'm far to lazy to go over the lines with the pen tool in photoshop anymore and I was curious if using a tablet would make digital inking/coloring more bearable, so thanks!

the smallest bamboo fun tablet is roughly in the 80-100$ my emdium one is in the 180-200$ i think. A christmas present cause my dad kept watching me and seeing me struggle with my mouse and always erasing xDD

The only difference is that it's a bit smaller. But the bigger it is, the more space you have so you don't need to move around as much to get to the places...I use my navigator and zoom in regulary...so really I would of been fine with a small...Zooming in is your best friend though, more precision and alot smoother lines

Oh I would be a lot sloppier if I didn't zoom in, colors would be all over the place man.
uuuhm as far as programs go I have Photoshop cs2 (OOOLD I know) and Opencanvas, though I don't use Opencanvas that much anymore. I started a trial for Paint tool sai and it seems a lot easier to control, but it definitely seems like it would be better with a tablet. That and I'm still figuring out the controls for that and stuff @_@

Yah I used to use open canvas too...that's actually what I used to make my comics back in the day xDD
You really should try to find portable paint tool sai, because for the trial version of sai it's only 30 days and afterwards you cant save anymore. portable sai is good for a lifetime C:

Does portable paint tool sai come with the tablet? See, many many moons ago, I had bought a tablet, a used tablet, and when I got home to use it, my old laptop was like LOLNOPE and decided that it would never read disks.

you have to download portable sai like you did for open canvas.
You also have to make sure the tablet configures with your laptop, and to see if you have enough space to actually put those programs on. it says on the back how many bytes you need free
