Hey! Have you been working on any art lately?
π: 0 β©: 1
LaceChrizzy In reply to InkyDreamz [2011-04-24 16:03:18 +0000 UTC]
Yea, a bit! I've started to draw my classmates, since last day of school is rushing to us, and we'll miss each other alot. But not much work has been done, since my easter has been spent on a scout camp! I did a couple of doodles I might upload later...and then I gotta prepare for the exams...But I'm soon done with the portraits
What about you?

Oh how cool! Thats a good idea to draw your classmates
I'd like to see them.
I did a ink/watercolor drawing (made another 'speed drawing' video with it and posted it as a journal recently but otherwise not a whole lot. I've been sewing a lot lately and came up with a little owl plushie I'm going to list on etsy really soon.
Theres lots more I want to draw!

LaceChrizzy In reply to InkyDreamz [2011-04-25 20:13:46 +0000 UTC]
I'll probably upload them when I'm done with them. I hope to use a real scanner, and not just a crappy photo...
Yeah, I haven't seen the speed drawing, but I liked the result!
Sewing is so calming, because it doesn't necessarily need lots of brain use once you're started...
Me too! It'd also be sad if there weren't...

Oh sewing is definitely calming. Ive been having a lot of trouble lately with sewing machines malfunctioning on me though so i'm having to be a detective to figure out whats wrong! : - )

I they must be! Or a Mystery Sorcerer has cast spells on all mine! Because the same problem keeps happening over and over again with the several sewing machines we have!

LaceChrizzy In reply to InkyDreamz [2011-02-05 21:44:45 +0000 UTC]
Hi!
Currently pre-exams, skiing vacation, and real(!) exams are over me, so there's not really time for anything than doodling and practicing on lined paper in class...but I'm collecting ideas and inspiration!
Though, I'm about to upload somethimg I did a while ago!
What about yourself?
π: 0 β©: 1
InkyDreamz In reply to LaceChrizzy [2011-02-06 06:01:37 +0000 UTC]
Its always great to collect ideas and inspiration when you don't have time to sit down and flat out just draw. Then you can come up with something really awesome!
I've been pondering doing some water color art! Branch away from the usual black and white ink and do a lot of color for a little change. But I'm not sure exactly what yet!

Yeah, I wanna draw something more anatomy related than just faces..>.>;
So my schoolbooks are filled crazy sketchy poses!
That sounds great! I'll be looking forward to that! I used to do alot of watercolour when I was younger, but my skills has faded...Watercolour is now in my idea/inspiration map!
With what I've seen of your art I think you can do something really beautiful in watercolour!

InkyDreamz In reply to LaceChrizzy [2011-02-08 02:04:43 +0000 UTC]
Oh awesome! Ive been really interested in trying out poses and have been experimenting a lot lately myself! Its fun to see what kind of personality/attitude you can give to your character not just by their expression, but also their 'body language'
I'd love to see your watercolor art! What I love about using water color is it tends to have a mind of its own! And you can't always be 100% sure how its all going to turn out once its dried

LaceChrizzy In reply to InkyDreamz [2011-02-08 13:15:38 +0000 UTC]
It really is! I find it quite a challenge, though. But you need to challenge yourself to become better. There's no such thing as perfect!
Aw, thanks, I'll see if I can dig some of it up...I think I have a dragon or castle somewhere...
No, that's what's so great about it! Watercolour=magic. It's also not something you have to spend a great deal of money on, since you can easily mix your own colours with a few basics.
Do you prefer watercolour paint, or pencils?
π: 0 β©: 1
InkyDreamz In reply to LaceChrizzy [2011-02-11 02:55:39 +0000 UTC]
Definitely right on about there's no such thing as perfect. That's what is great about art is there is always that challenge to become better! Because if you are perfect... then really what else is there anymore? So there's always something to keep inspiring you to keep creating. Art is something that never dies
I love working with both watercolor paint and Pencils but I think at the moment I'm loving water color paint A LOT! :- )

Couldn't agree more. I'm a part of a organization that makes youth camps to help youngsters learn and live better, if you can say so. We have a activity that challenges them to build a tower out of paper cards in groups of four. The highest tower wins. No other rules. Some of them always gives up when it keeps falling apart, or they don't have any more cards. Then we ask: 'Can't you build it higher??' Answer: 'No..' 'Why?' 'We don't have any cards!' 'But if you had more, you could, right?' 'Yes..'
Then they start stealing from each other, until they finally join together and have almost all of the cards to make a huge tower. You can always go further, you just have to find the right way!
I prefer pencils since i started with them, but it's fun to create new colours with paint!

Oh wow... that is awesome about the youth camps! So interesting how they eventually join together and what a wonderful example of finding a way to go further
