I found I was better at writing really. I still draw though, I've found I'm very good at recreating cartoons without tracing, but I have a hard time creating original works. I'm pretty handy with photo shop though. ^_^

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-01-27 03:35:28 +0000 UTC]

Well at least you recognize what you're best at.

I'm almost the opposite. XD I'm fairly good at creating original work but it takes me a long while to recreate cartoons and to draw them well off the top of my head. 8P I'm not that great with photo shop but I'd love to learn/practice to get better.

Well with photoshop, or Jasc Paint-shop that I use now, it's really just a matter of using different layers properly and remembering which layer does which. The movie poster thing on my page I did with Photoshop, and it was just a matter of tweaking each layer as I wanted to, and compressing them when I was done. I think it turned out well. ^_^ I actually have another mock movie poster that I did, I'll put it up later on.

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-02-17 16:47:10 +0000 UTC]

I see. 8P I have trouble with layers personally. XD Or at least with OpenCanvas. It's a bit different from Photoshop. That's really neat though. You should put it up. (By the way... Thanks for the watch long ago and not so far away! VERY much appreciated! )

My first review was on Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth documentary. So it's documentaries and historical films, like the Patriot or Marie Antoinette. I'm a history major and no one really focuses solely on these types of reviews. ^_^; Kinda dorky, but I also have a back story for my internet persona...

Aw that's awesome. I haven't heard of someone reviewing historical films and such. o_o I'm so... In awe right now. I loveee history. I admit, I can't remember much since I haven't really been keeping my mind fresh, but I love it. Especially if it has to do with the Lewis and Clark expedition.

Yay history lovers! I'm a European and Mediterranean history buff personally, I've been to the various WW2 concentration camps for a may term and it's really influenced how I view that time period. Next Month, though, I'm tackling The Deadliest Warrior TV series, so it should be fun. ^_^

Wowww that's so awesome. I would like to go to concentration camps. Just the whole thing just astounds me. If I remember right, my godfather's parents or grandparents, I can't remember which, were survivors of a concentration camp.

I've been to the major ones, Auschwitz and both Birkenau sites. It's a very humbling experience, but will wipe you of your energy. Still, I'm glad I went; though it has turned me sour towards humanity of this age... especially the spoiled brat frats of my college... >_>

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-02-22 17:21:12 +0000 UTC]

I can only imagine. As if the stories and documentaries about these camps aren't humbling enough.
Omgosh I totally agree with you there. I'm so irritated at kids these days. They're spoiled rotten to the core and so selfish, and most of them more than likely couldn't tell you much about the camps or Hitler or anything aside from it happened. >_< As the concierge from the Ferris Bueller's Day Out has said, 'I fear for the future.'

I actually can't stand that movie myself, but that quote rings so true. I'm kinda starting to welcome the idea of a zombie apocalypse... or any apocalypse... >.> But yeah, I'm also tackling the Deadliest Warrior TV series for my next reviews, and I'm so full of rage right now with the bros that run that series. And it got a 7.4 on IMDB? F-that...

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-02-24 02:17:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeahh it's not one of my favourite movies either, but that's a line I really like from it. Hahaha XD I can't help but welcome the idea as well. The Deadliest Warrior? I think I've heard of it, but I don't know what it is really. I dun watch a lot of tv, since there's not that many tv shows I like. A lot of shows are just sleazy and too full of drama for me to get into.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LaLaJack In reply to lonesome-wolf-child [2012-02-24 03:39:57 +0000 UTC]

It's really not worth watching, in all honesty. It's a bunch of meat-heads putting together some of history's best warriors against each other... It's total b.s. I don't get to watch a lot of TV either nowadays, I just watch shows on my laptop when I get the chance to. tvlinks.eu is real handy for that. ^_^ But yeah, a lot of TV shows are all drama lately; though I admit I do watch the Jersey Shore on occasion, mainly cuz I'm from Jersey and it's the only show my mom will watch with me... >.<

Oh brother. XP That sounds completely ridiculous. >_> It doesn't sound that great to me. XP
I have a hard time watching shows with drama like that. I have enough of that going on with me or close friends and family as is. XDD But that makes sense. At least you're watching it so you and your mum could watch something together to bond over and all.

LaLaJack In reply to lonesome-wolf-child [2012-02-27 06:14:20 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, plus it kills 45 minutes between classes. ^_^; My mom doesn't have the same sense of humor that I do so it's difficult for us to watch the same shows any more. Plus I don't see her that often because of school and the fact that I live with my dad now.
Sounds like you have your fair share of family drama too, huh?

Right, right. XD Least you're trying; I think that's what matters most.
My family doesn't usually have a lot of drama but it seems to have increased significantly (or should I say insignificantly? ) lately. It's just been crazy these past few months.

Yeah, same here but I think with me so close to graduating college they're getting more antsy lately. Then again, I'm just as anxious since the economy sucks hard...and history majors are getting the short end of the stick job wise.

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-03-02 19:49:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I can understand that. Parents. That's true too. It's just not fair that history majors as yourself are being overlooked, job wise. History is important whether people realize it or not, and it's a lot of fun to learn too.

Yeah, it's difficult with any job lately, unless it's information technology or computer science, but even then your job might be outsourced... *sighs* But, I'm not too worried. I'm gonna have an internship at a museum by my school over the summer, and if things go well, maybe they'll hire me. I try not to worry too much about money, I stay happier longer that way. ^_^ Oh, I finally got that Deadliest Warrior episode done if you wanna check it out.

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-03-06 22:21:27 +0000 UTC]

That's so true. You have to be really computer/technology savvy these days to keep up with everything, jobs and all. But wow that's awesome. What kind of museum is it? I'd like to check out that Deadliest Warrior episode. As some of my friends would say, 'Link mehh.' XD

It's called The Center in the Square, and I'm not entirely sure what the museum focuses on but it seemed to have a very broad spectrum of exhibits. I just really have to pass my math course right now though before I can really think about my internship... Rawr... >.<

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-04-06 12:18:24 +0000 UTC]

Sorry for the late response. I finally had a chance to use my dad's laptop, since my computer doesn't have sound.

Wowww.. You're right. That show's concept is pretty ridiculous. -_- What I don't understand is how did the show measure how well each warrior does out of a thousand? It doesn't make much sense to me but okay.

And ahhh I see. That's pretty neat though that there's a variety of different exhibits. Makes the museum a bit more interesting that way. I wish you luck on the math course though. Hopefully all will go well.

Seems to be an epidemic of computers hating their masters... Mine still hates me.

And I don't understand the "Run it 1000 times" bit either, I think they're doing that just so they can attempt to make it a 'science' show.

And math is going better than I thought it would, got a 70 on my latest quiz, but my grade is still tanking though... Least my other classes have averages of As and Bs. Hope you're doing alright. ^_^

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-04-09 18:29:46 +0000 UTC]

Lawl. That's for sure. XD Hahaha

I guess, but just the same it doesn't seem to make sense of how they did it, especially since they didn't really get into how they would go about pulling numbers like that. >_>

That's good to hear. Math has been a weakness of mine but that's because I didn't understand it, since the last couple books that were used in my last years in High School were jumbled around, and it was more an in-class kind of book. It was difficult to do it on your own so if you missed a day, you get super confused. Even if you are there, you get confused. XD; But anyways, great to hear the grades are good and I'll be praying that they'll only get better.
As for me I'm doing all right. Just a bit tired from taking care of this dog I've taken on as a foster pet until she gets adopted. It's a long story, but bottom line is, our landlord has been complaining about her barking in the middle of the night so we have to bring her inside, where she doesn't want to go to sleep until 2-4am. Let's just say I'm looking forward to the day she gets adopted. Haha

Me and Math have never been friends, or acquaintances for that matter. I zone out so badly in math, I start thinking about what to do for my review series, a book that I'm writing, or a song just creeps into my mind and I'm trying like crazy to remember what the whole song is. It's bad... -_-; Thanks for the encouragement though; it's sad when I'm like "I just need a D, and I'll pass!"

Aw, poor puppy. What kind of breed is she? A small yippy dog?

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-04-12 18:31:30 +0000 UTC]

Lawl. XD I totally understand what you mean. I'm okay with basic math and basic algebra and some geometry (as long as I have the list of math formulas), but I usually space out and muss things up with math any more difficult than that. Haha What's your book about?
No problem! Just so long as you're barely passing, it's passing so there. Haha

She was some sort of collie I think. I'm not entirely certain to be honest. She was a sweet pup and she didn't bark very much, but for some reason she felt compelled to bark in the middle of the night for the past couple of weeks. I took her in to get spayed yesterday morning and I was just informed this morning that she passed away overnight, due to having a kind of reaction to the meds that she was given after the surgery, or.. Something along those lines.

It's like a start up business class... Math Models or something along those lines. It's basic enough for a 101 requirement, but my brain still cries whenever I see the homework... T-T

Oh no! That's a shame, I'm sorry to hear that. Poor thing, you would think the vets would be more careful with a smaller pup. If that were my dog, I'd be sue happy. I remember when I had to bring in my dog to put her down, she was 15 or 16 years old, had her since I was maybe 5 or 6. Maybe she'll keep that pup safe in Doggie Heaven. ^_^

Ahhh I see. Man that's crazy though. I can totally sympathize with you there with the math and all. Not funnn at ALLLLL.

It is, truly it is. <_> She was a wonderful pup, but I can't really blame the facility, since I doubt, it being a small town and all there, they have the equipment to check every detail such as that. I admit, I'm still upset about it, but I hold no grudge against them. I'm grateful that they were doing what they could for her, as that's what I wanted. Aww that must've been really hard, especially since you've had her for so long. But yeah, maybe they're just enjoying themselves up there and having a ball, literally. XD Haha

At least she was comfortable in her last moments on Earth. Haha, yeah, I'm sure they're having fun up there. Are you going to foster another pet later on? Or was Topsee a spur of the moment foster?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lonesome-wolf-child In reply to LaLaJack [2012-04-21 18:51:13 +0000 UTC]

That's true. And I'm sure of it. I don't see why not.
I'm not actually. Topsee was a spur of the moment kinda situation. Back in January, I found her in our chicken pen, but she couldn't get to the chickens because they were locked up. I coaxed her to me, which took a longgg while in the cold and snow, and I didn't want to take her to a shelter an hour away that put animals down when they're not adopted, since she was super cute and sweet. I've asked our neighbors on the street behind us if they knew who she belonged to but no luck, though some have said they have seen her around. Anywho, long story short, I looked around for a shelter for her and found this one a month and a half later after being recommended by someone in church and the rest is history.

Ah, I see. A chicken pen? Do you live more in the country or on a ranch? I love chickens, they're hysterical creatures. I used to work for a farm and spent my off time playing with the baby chicks and ducks. It was funny, cuz I'd walk by my boss's house and they'd all start peeping for me. ^_^
