I'm an artist, mom, bookworm and a proud nerd. I have always loved to sketch and sculpt and recently decided to try my hand at turning my hobby into a business. I am now the owner of Kitschy Custom Crafts where I make pop culture themed accessories and custom pieces out of polymer clay and sell them on Facebook, Etsy and now Deviantart. Hilariously enough, not really because I am a beginner myself x_X I just try to knead the clay and smooth it out really well. If you're making a flat round head like I do for my magnets, I shape it into a flat circle and press and smooth until the thickness is pretty even then I flip it over and use the side that was pressed to the table since being pressed to the tale makes it the most even side. I find it hard to do tiny details in clay like eyes without smushing it all together so most of the time, I elect to draw the face on in pen rather than sculpt it or mold the details out of clay. This is something I am working to get over in time but it just takes practice. Wash your hand often when handling polymer clay helps as well.

Well, to polymer clay, yes. I've been working with air dry clays on and off again since 2006. They are pretty similar though color/lint/finger print contamination seems to be more of an issue with polymers which are stickier than air drys. And you're welcome. I feel rather pretentious about offering tips on a process I hardly understand myself but I'm glad I could help. I'll share things with you as I learn them myself lol. It can be a duel learning process

color drying clay can be a real pain sometimes, thats why i just use white. th eproblem here is that they dont sell sculpey or Polymer in the local art story, and buying online is very expensive. so i always use creall
