I don't post very much since animations/videos are simply a side hobby for me, so it takes me a while
to get anything done. But if you want to see other stuff I've made or been a part of, I do have a couple
of things on the Game Grumps channel such as Zelda's Diary, Animate-A-Grump, and the Top That Remix collab.
I am in the process of making another animation, but there's no telling when I'll be done with it haha~
So I hope you're patient enough to wait!

How have I been having the Game Grumps animations basically on loop for months and never checked if you had a deviant art or not?

Hey Kirb. Just wanted to say that I really adore your style. Found it instantly charming in your Game Grumps animations, and I really enjoyed seeing your Twitter posts while I still had an account.Β
I find myself back on deviantart just to look at artwork at the moment. Truth be told, I've not drawn in months, despite it being a big part of most of my life. I guess I feel like I have no idea how to even do it anymore, and I've lost all motivation. My style and technical ability is never consistent, and even when I'm at my best, it still feels like I'm nowhere near where I should be after more than a decade of doing it. I know everyone says practice, practice, practice, but I just can't seem to make it happen lately.Β
Did you ever struggle with motivation, or making time between work and school, or anything similar? I hate to think about just giving up after so long, especially since it used to be something that I did just because I found it fun, but I just can't seem to find the energy now.Β
But anyway, keep up the great work! Even if you don't read this, it felt kinda good to get my thoughts about it in order, so thank you either way. Your work genuinely puts a smile on my face, and I hope you continue to do more.Β

Hello! And thanks, I'm glad you like my stuff~ This reply is late, but I'll still answer some things for ya.
So for your question, that's a big yes. And I'm sure I'm not the only one, every artist out there goes through their own struggles from time to time. You just gotta have the dedication to pull yourself out of it. If you love doing something, then there's definitely no way you'll give up on it. Everyone needs a break though, otherwise you'll just wipe yourself out. There are days when I simply feel too tired and can't quite get myself into the mood to do any drawings. That's when finding the right motivation comes in. I usually get it back after maybe watching some anime or even listening to certain music that gets me pumped up.
Do you just feel like you're not improving? Or did you actually compare your present art to something you did in the past? Because feeling like you aren't getting anywhere is just a normal thing, you have to physically see the improvements to get your mind to believe it. So grab something you did a long time ago and compare it to something you did recently. You're bound to see a difference if you really have been practicing a lot. What you're doing to make yourself feel like you aren't is that you're comparing yourself to others art instead. You don't wanna do that. Everyone draws differently, you just gotta focus on yourself, don't worry about how much "better" everyone else is. Art is still art, it doesn't matter how it looks.
All in all, you don't have to be the best artist in the world. What's important is that you have fun with it. So I hope this helps and that you can pick a pencil back up and remember why you enjoyed drawing in the first place~
