Oh those space phoenix drawings are kinda old haha. I just put them on my front page as a placeholder, so I can see how the background looks. Once I get some better art done I'll use my front page for story stuff.

I'm currently going through my sketchbooks and scans and other stuff looking for something suitable to upload. But all the good stuff isn't in a good quality and would take a lot of tweaking. So I thought, what the heck! I just draw something digitally, slap on some colours to make it purdy and throw it on the site. Well, several hours later I'm in the middle of a digital painting, which looks horrible, and the tips you've given have really helped. I'm just not good at painting. I've never studied it. And I usually don't colour my works not to mention any shading is rather basic so I don't have much knowledge about where the light and shadows go. I'm not using any references though. That's probably my biggest problem. If I found a good picture to use for referencing light I might have a better time of it. Either way after blurring the edges of everything it looks much better but a little too airbrushed. Gahhh. I'll post it when I finish though. The subject isn't that original, just a sketch of one of my favourite characters, but he's been the easiest to draw as of late so I stuck with him. If anything though his eyes are gonna be beautiful because that's the one thing I know an inkling of how to do well.

Ahahaha thanks, although I care that they're old.... cuz they're my best paintings, and almost 5 years old... makes me feel kinda pathetic, lol. xD

I'm glad the tips I gave are helping... Refs are good! Always use refs when you're struggling. Light is especially a tricky thing, sometimes it's good to find a tutorial on lighting or look at what other artists do.
Dude I love eyes. Eyes are amazing things to draw, and happen to be one of the few things I'm capable of drawing. xD
I look forward to seeing it!
