You know, for an athiest, you're pretty interested in Kabbalah and stuff. XD

There is a clear separation between the existence of a god and that god's said religion. The religion and all superstition following it are complete bullshit, but the god of said religion is always hidden in a Grey cloud protected from empirical scrutiny. Only by means of presumption and deductive logic one can assume that there is no God, and deductive logic can only take one so far.
I do however fancy the idea of meta-belief that is shared by chaos magicians and is discussed in further detail by Peter Carroll's writings (such as Liber Null and Liber Kaos.)

Good! I was hoping I wasn't just wishful thinking about you. You're clearly Hermetic. I finally found another.
Indeed, the existence we identify as God is far more complex than profane human perspective loves to simplify. The One Mind that is the "Creator" is but the Chaotic First Matter from which all worldly energy and substance originates from. The scriptures that describe the works of "YHVH" such as the TORA and the Gospels of Kristos are but expressions of spiritual law vesseled in story from those in Gnostic Meditation. However, as we know from observing history, men have taken this knowledge to literacy and convenience for political manipulation.
However, this is also the profound wisdoms that are meant to be seen and discovered in the practices such as Astrology and Alchemy.

The Illuminates of Thanateros are descended from Austin Spare's Zos Kia Cultus which is descended from the golden dawn which is descended from a shitload of things which were descended from basically shamanism.
Don't be deceived if sound knowledgeable. I'm basically reading this off from the Liber Null and hardly have much of this internalized. Hell I don't even practice magic. I kinda started to make a magic journal and doing some of the practices, but the closest I ever came to having a magical trance was at my old job at a call center on a really really slow day. I do like sigil making though, for artistic purposes.
But yeah, profound wisdom can be found in astronomy and alchemy. Black state, red state, white state, inner transformation, etc etc. The thing is profound wisdom can be read into anything, what with the 5 pounds (or five tons) of flax and all.
All these systems of beliefs in the eyes of a chaos magician are simply tools. Atheist one day, Muslim the next, it really doesn't matter, it's all slight of mind. The way I see it nothing in itself has any spiritual merit other than what we are willing to put in it.
Anyways...I don't quite like the label "hermetic" I have Franz Bardon's initiation into Hermetics, (surprise! ...i'm not initiated.), and as interesting as it was as a read, I prefer Peter J. Carrol's Liber Null for it's simpler more fluid breakdown of practices...even though I haven't really implemented them much...but it all sounds good in theory!

Neither am I. I'm solitary in everything I do. I use the term Hermetic in that like me, you persue the practices in the catagory that they fall under. Ultimately, I'm just Occult Philosophical. It's actually annoying when people try to pinpoint a religious group for me. Usually I'm just passed of as a New Age Pagan or usually seen as a witch. While I thank them for the complement, I'm not really that spiritually nature-based to be that kind of practioner.

No prob, it was a really great piece.
I would be on deviantArt more, however with dial-up, college and other things, don't expect me to be very active.
I'll eventualy update my gallery again though.
