Sorry to bug you with all the cosplay sword questions! I just think you did a great job, and I want to experiment making my own version-- I just haven't the first clue as how to start!
I like to dress as game characters for Halloween, but I strictly make all my own costumes. Now I want to make a huge sword.

np dude, im glad people are seeing my work. but the 1st thing you want to do is make a nice strong and light skeleton, i used plexiglass, but that can get expensive, so you could also use ply wood. after that use those metal rods i told you about in the 1st post, so it wont snap in half on you (it really sucks when that happens). after that use the foam, if its a large object, apply it in layers, if you put it all on at once, it will make huge air pockets and that gets fucking annoying, also it takes alot longer to dry on the inside. next use a knife or something to shape it (if your object is really intricate i would suggest getting a dremmel set, in fact you should get one anyways, its probably the most useful thing you could possibly have for cosplaying). then do the caulk coating. now, the chrome i used was a car spry chroming paint, but it turned out sticky and came off on surfaces that i put it on, so i would suggest reserching in chrome house paints, they would prolly work better. or even using a sealant on it. keep in mind that using a sealant on the chrome will probably dull the silver finish as it did for me, the pic i have up of the finished one is before i used the sealant, afterwords it turned out greyish. just keep me up to date on your project, and hopefully i can meet u at a con sometime.

Hello pplz. if you havent noticed already, im a cosplayer. so far the things that i have done are Kisame, Terry Bogard, and im soon to be Siegfried, with full chromed crystal armor and to scale soulcalibur. my next project will be one of my masterpieces, a full nightmare costume from SCIV. complete with huge LED torso piece, full black undersuit, (so you cant see the person undernieth), a modded voice-changer, leds around the eyes, fully functional claw, and... a secret, very special thing that i cant tell u yet or else someone might steal it. i was thinking about doing a SCIII soul edge that would be actually covered in animal entrails and such, and get ahold of an actual whales eye, all of these things would be covered in a thick sealant (and yes it works, my friend has done it). also considering making the handel out of a real bone. the most morbid and demonic piece of cosplay ever!
