Honestly most of my palettes are inspired from other adopts/character designs/artworks/real life, etc! Obviously you have to change it a bit and make it your own, make it original, but when in comes to designing not everything has to come straight out of your head! I usually pick at least three things that I find aesthetically inspiring to base my designs around to start myself off on a good track! Another thing you can try is picking your colors out before hand, but still allowing yourself to change as you go along, as well as learning the basics of color theory!! O:
