You're welcome Oh I'm very sorry, thats the same as my icon. It's a tribute to my deceased boar Ludwig. He passed away back in 2011 and I've had the icon ever since. I miss him dearly.

Oh I'm sorry for your loss. I know how it feels.
Mine died in 2016...
I miss my baby dearly too. My mom misses him very much as well. We were all quite close to him in the family and for us guinea pigs aren't just cute creatures to own, they're part of our family, so losing him was very painful to us all. I'm sure it's the same for you.

They're very precious little animals. I've had many in the time since and I love them all dearly but Ludwig will always hold the deepest place in my heart because he was my first and taught me not to be scared of touching them. He used to come to the call of his name (out of whatever room he was running around at the time) and he used to follow me around like a shadow. He was such a sweet boy but sadly a petshop piggie and came from bad breeding. I only had him 2 years before he randomly died. 
I have a female piggie who is the spitting image of him right now. She's five years old now and the most precious little girl. It makes me smile as its like looking at his daughter or something.

Ooooh!! Your Ludwig reminds me of my Flinky, my first baby too!! Since he died I never got another pig following me around like he would do. Kiki was our most beloved one (out of the four we've owned so far), but he was too scared to cross rooms. Though he was super cuddly and knew his name and remained with us a great deal of time.
Yeah... Mines come from petshops because I don't know if there's any breeder near-by. But I swear my next boy will come from a breeder cause yeah, they come from poor breeding. But I'm wondering if there are any noticeable differences between pigs from petshops and from breeders? I mean, Kiki came from a petshop and lived 7 years with us, he was a strong pig and we never got any big trouble with his health until he got old... Could you give me more information about breeders please?
My Nikki randomly died as well. He always had some health issues like for example he had trouble moving his neck so as to clean his back... And he was very scared and nervous towards us. He would also always try get back into his cage the instant I took him out of it for him to explore and walk around... So I had to take Kiki out of his too for Nikki to find some interest in getting outside but Kiki never liked having a companion, whether it was Nikki or Punky.
Nikki died at 3, Flinky at 3.5 (from a skull malformation), Kiki died at 7 (from a tumor blocking his intestines and rear), and Punky is currently 2.5 and I hope he'll live a long life. Though he's always been a rather weak piggy..... I don't want to lose him omg.

I've never had another follow me quite like Ludwig did but my Matthew and Ryou liked to follow me if I was in a room also. But Ludwig was more like my shadow Ludwig didn't care about his cagemate -to Gilbert's sadness who would cry if Ludwig wasn't around - but Matthew and Ryou did. Ludwig was more of a people piggie than a piggie
Ah I'm afraid I can't help with breeders as I've only had one from a breeder and he was the one that died the quickest. I lost him in June 2017. It was heart breaking. My only advice is go to a breeder who breeds the female ONCE and only does it to further the good genes of existing guinea pigs. Any other breeder who does it for any other reason don't care about the animal but just making money. Sadly Bakura's breeder was like this and the poor boy suffered. I bought him as I couldn't bare to leave him in the awful conditions he was in. 
I get all my guinea pigs from animal rescues where previous owners have abandoned them for whatever reason. They're usually more loving and relieved to have someone who cares about them once you teach them not to be afraid. I've always found these guinea pigs to be the most affectionate. 

I hope your Punky lives a lovely long life. I currently have two girls and one boy, the boy is the youngest as I only got him recently from a rescue - he was taken from a farm that was ignoring their animals so they were taken away- and my girls, Eevee from a petshop and Sakurai was from an online site as the person wanted to just get rid of them. I couldn't bare to see her going to any rotten home and she was Ludwig's spitting image so I adopted her. The family were genuinely very nice, the girl just didn't have time for them anymore as she was going to university.

Well, Punky and Kiki both follow/ed me but they don't go beyond their "territory". x3 The unknown is scary for piggies~
Oooh I'm sorry... Omg I'm so sad to hear some breeders only breed for money!! This is disgusting! When I bought Punky in our local petstore, I did so mostly because when I saw the living conditions I thought I would sort of "save" him. He was very small compared with the many others there were, and he has his ears a little torn and ripped so I guess they were so many that it triggered fights among the babies who would chew and bite each other's ears...
He was so small and weak I thought he was a she at first. O_O" Now he's almost three, he nearly died when I brought him home because he was sick as hell... I was so heartbroken to believe I would lose him!!! But he fought and the vet helped us take proper care of him. I think he has a weak immune system though, because he managed to hurt/injure himself quite a number of times already and I don't know how?! 'Must be clumsy~ Kiki lived 7 years without ever meeting a vet for health issues (until he got old)... <_<"
I'd like to adopt pigs from shelters but my mother would rather not because she says they're already old and she doesn't want to get to love a pig that will soon pass away. When Kiki does it really broke her heart and I know she misses him, still. But personally, I would like to take some abandoned or abused pigs home and get them a better life.

Yeah it was an awful site. I hate breeders for the most part  
Aww yeah that tends to happen at pet shops when the piggies are transported to the stores they fight because they are all crammed in tightly together. Poor things.

Aww he's a right little fighter! Oddly some piggies never or rarely need the vet and others I seem to be constantly at the vet with. 

Let your mum know that they are all ages at shelters I've adopted babies from them as well as older piggies. My Matthew was an unknown age when I adopted him but they estimated he was about 6 at the time. I had him for a further 3 years before he passed away. They deserve love just as much Also Matthew out of all my piggies was the friendliest because I think he cherished having a caring home knowing what its like not to previously.
