(( i sent an angel to watch over you last night but it came back. I asked “why?” The angel said “angels don't watch over angels.” Twenty angels are IN your world. Ten of them are sleeping, nine are playing, one is reading this message. Send this to ten friends including me. I guess if I don't get it back I'm not one of them. As soon as you get five replies, someone you love will quietly surprise you. Please read, not joking. God has seen you struggling with something. God says its over. A blessing is coming your way. If you believe in God send this message on. Please don't ignore it. You are being tested. God is going to fix two things BIG tonight in your favor. DROP Everything and pass it on. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. Don't break this chain. Send to 14 friends in 10 minutes. It's not that hard ♥

Hey Lex! Aww wow, it HAS been a long time! I'm doing great as per usual, haha! Thinking about opening up commissions for some extra dough, but that's about all that's new.
What have you been up to?? It's been way too long since we last said "hi".

Well, I've just been workin' here and there, kinda fell off of my writing game for a while, lying to myself that I was just taking a hiatus. (Trust me, that was one long ass hiatus XD) But I'm trying to return to my creative roots again and stuffs. You got a Skype by any chance? :3 we can catch up on there cause I'm on it pretty often, I don't usually check DA like that anymore, though I'm trying to ween myself back into it.

I think sometimes you need a long break from art to really appreciate what you're doing. I had a 2 year slump when I didn't draw a single thing, but once I finally found my motivation to draw, I haven't stopped since! You'll find yours too, don't worry, just let it happen. Glad you're starting to get back into it :>
I don't do much IM chatting - my Skype is pretty much just for work clients. You'll just have to come back to DA and check your messages! X3

Yeah that sounds like what I've been going through, and to be honest yeah I was pretty scared. But I am feeling the vibe from my stories again and that's what I want to continue :3
Right you are I suppose XD Looks like I'll have to return for reals so I can talk to my good friend again I take it then you haven't rp'd in ages either?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JoyAffliction In reply to LexPrailius [2013-05-30 19:52:37 +0000 UTC]
Yeah! Take that vibe and run with it! Soon you won't be able to hold back the creative juices! XD
Darn tootin' you'll have to have a DA comeback! You nailed the RP thing too. Tried to get into a couple, but they never seem to hold my interest anymore. I still secretly create characters for some though, because some have such great themes I can't help but be motivated to doodle! ♥

Yeah those creative juices would be really nice to have right about now o.o well more so the dedication to keep running with the writing down part XD I think the creativeness is already set.
I can see how so many would begin to fall off, the last big RP site I got involved in was a Naruto based one, I actually poured a lot of time into it, but once it go reset I kind of fell off to just do 1 on 1 RPs instead, either to improve my friend's story or my own through whatever scenario is cooked up.

JoyAffliction In reply to LexPrailius [2013-05-31 18:27:39 +0000 UTC]
Haha, well, don't force it. Just let it happen. One day you'll wake up and be like "Man, I want to write today." and then you won't stop XD
RPs ARE pretty great for ideas, that's for sure! As a writer, I can see why you would want to keep it up. Now that I think about it though, I guess I DO technically RP in a way - I play DnD with my friends all the time haha (I even run a campaign myself!) I just always associate "RP" with "internet"

The day I get to wake up and think that I'll be the happiest person evar o:
I haven't played DnD, but I can imagine it requires creativity just like RPing lol. I pretty much associate RP with the internet too, considering any other RP for real life would be only certain kind I would think o.o I can't wait to check up on your art though, it's been a while and I need something good to look at XD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JoyAffliction In reply to LexPrailius [2013-06-01 16:59:10 +0000 UTC]
DnD's pretty similar RPing - you get out of it what you put into it. If you're engaged in the game, trying out new things, and pulling ridiculous stunts that can only happen in a fantasy setting, you're going to have a blast! DnD's more about having fun though than actually developing a character and story, like in an online RP setting.
Feel free to check on my art, though I'm not sure there's a lot to check out, haha. I'm working on being more active on DA myself! It gives me an excuse to finish art pieces XD

I'm also doing well, thanks for askin, and I'm on MSN and Skype everyday, so if you want to keep in touch, I'll be on there, I'm rarely on this site but once every 3-5 months or so at the moment.

I'm sorry. I have a hard time remembering what happened yesterday, of all things. I've lost days like you wouldn't believe. My memory has only gotten worse with time. I'm grasping at straws here...

All I need is a name. See, now I somewhat but not wholly just yet kind of remember you.
NO WAIT MY BRAIN JUST CLICKED.
KRIS!
I'm sorry my memory is so bad. I blame the massive cocktail of drugs I had to take years ago when I was in the hospital. Probably messed with my brain or something. BUT IT'S ALL GOOD BECAUSE I AM STILL ALIVE.
So how are ya? I'd probably know if I ever went on Facebook but for some reason I never go on facebook. Huh.

Dawne!
HOLY BALLS. You were in the hospital?! At least you're still alive (Unless they turned you into a zombie.)
I'm doing pretty decent I guess. All healthy here! My last industry job was back in August, which makes me sad since I'm now working at Best Buy. Yay $40k education!
SO how have you been doing?? (Also, go on facebook once an era! )

Delta-Hexagon In reply to JoyAffliction [2012-02-12 17:51:24 +0000 UTC]
Before I went to the Art Institute, yes. I have Crohn's disease and the doctors were all like "TAKE THIS NO THIS THIS TOO IF YOU TAKE THIS WITH THIS THEN IT'LL SCREW YOU OVER EVEN MORE YAY MONEY!"
The only good doctor was my surgeon. Bless his surgeony soul!
You had an industry job? Who with? Was it awesome? Did you love it? Did you hate it? Right now I'm working freelance. Which is alright. I gets money and I make monsters so I'm content right now. I'd love a steady job, though. That would be nice.
Well I would get on facebook but every time I do there's no one else and looking at my friend's list is like looking at a wasteland. Just like my MSN friend's list! And my Skype friend's list. And... All my friend's list for everything ever.

Holy cow!! I had no idea! Are you alright now after the surgery? Get better!! (Magically if you have to)
I've had 2 industry jobs; one at Conversion Works/Gener8 and the other at EA. At Gener8 we basically took 2D footage and made it 3D for movie and theatre. I got to work on some pretty cool/big movies like Harry Potter and the new Ghost Rider, but I absolutely hated it there. It didn't matter how hard you worked, or how efficient you were, all that mattered is how many hours you put in (12 a day wasn't enough btw).
Working at EA on the other hand was AWESOME. I did facial motion capture stuff for Battlefield 3 and it was crazy fun! They also have a gourmet cafeteria! (<-Priorities) The EA Mo-cap building is separate from the big EA building, so it feels like you're working in a small studio where you know everyone, but with all the benefits of a big awesome studio! Benefits like... your own soccer field!
So I wanna get back into the industry~ I love it there D:
Also, I totally know what you mean with msn... My list is so bare! I'm pretty sure no one goes on it anymore :C

It was two years ago, I'm fine for the most part. c:
EA sounds awesome, yo! I personally love the feel of working with a small studio. It makes me feel more at ease when I know everyone's name. If I may ask, why aren't you working there anymore? Were they only contract jobs?
I logged onto my MSN last night. One person was on. D:

JoyAffliction In reply to Delta-Hexagon [2012-02-14 17:08:09 +0000 UTC]
I'm glad to hear you're doing awesome! Except your msn friends list, that stinks. I'm online now... No one else is D:
I also love small studios! Or at least the feel of a small studio, like EA. It makes me feel more invested in the project, and like I actually have a say in it. Also knowing everyone in the studio is SO nice!
Both of my jobs were contract jobs. At Gener8 my contract got terminated a couple weeks early though because I'd be "better in games"... But that's just the official excuse for saying "You're only working 12 hour days and not 15, including weekends, so you are not the dumb workhorse we require." (The overtime was brutal from February til about August... then they fired everyone, even those they promised permanent positions!)
As far as EA goes though, that was only a month and 1/2 contract to finish Battlefield 3. They needed people to come in and finish the huge job they had. We were epically called the "Strikeforce" - It even says so in the B3 credits! Unfortunately EA Mo-Cap had no more work for us after that...
Contracts sucks! But I still love working in games :C Also, 1 person signed into msn as I typed this! But now he's set to 'away'...

Delta-Hexagon In reply to JoyAffliction [2012-02-14 18:18:13 +0000 UTC]
All my contract jobs have been awesome so far. Then again they're for one guy who wants to see his project to completion so I don't have to worry about him firing me or anything because he likes my stuff too much. XD
I'm hoping when he gets a studio up and running I can work full time there, but it's sort of nice working from home, as well. c:
I do hope you land yourself another industry job, though. Sounds like so much fun! Except for Gener8. I'll be sure to keep far from them, that doesn't sound like it was enjoyable at all. D:
Heh, I just signed onto MSN too and it's like a wasteland. If I listen hard enough I can hear the wind blowing. :<
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JoyAffliction In reply to Delta-Hexagon [2012-02-14 19:47:40 +0000 UTC]
That sounds awesome! Hopefully he gets a wicked awesome studio going and is all like "OMG DON! I NEED you to work here ALL THE TIME and I will pay you big bucks!" Cause that would just rock! Are you allowed to share any work you've done for him so far?
I'm definitely trying to get into freelance and such myself, just to bring in some extra dough. I'm thinking about starting commissions on DA too and seeing how that goes over.
Definitely keep far from Gener8!! I don't hear many bad things about other places - The most complaints I hear is about how much overtime you can put in during crunch time. But really, it's not so bad - plus you're doing what you love anyway!
