Yeah, its tough to get any notice on anything that isn't fanart anymore. I used to get a lot of people liking my older characters but then it just slowly stopped.

yep thats how it went for me when i swore off fan art and started posting original work. slowly died off to nothing.

the amount of people on FA looking to 'buy' art is far less than any other sight so i don't get commissions work here or questioned for commissions. it's all on FA.... and too mature for DA (i think?) so i don't get to post here. and when i do? i get very few views compared toot the thousands i used to get when my work was far more amateur, but fan art. not to mention DA removed a large portion of my Akuroku fan art that i drew in depiction of Roxas as an older character (because i've stated a billion times i do not agree with roxas being underage) because it 'involved activity with an under aged character.' I'm not even a big akuroku fan. i did it for friends. more or less. and that -really- was the last straw for me and fan art. my original characters can't be attacked like that.

and since i don't color my work. it's incredibly hard for an artist like me to get noticed. and share my work here. So that's why i stopped posting for the most part till i have like.... a load of things to post.

I don't really care for the direction DA took.

Oh god yeah the commissions part is the worst, ever since Points came in its been a downward spiral. I don't really get commissions or anything even on FA, but that's mostly cuz I'm too uncomfortable drawing mature work I guess.

That's messed up that they took it down after it was specified though, sometimes I really doubt anyone even reads the descriptions of things or cares to look at the characters more closely.

I also find the uncolored works that you do to be really nice looking to be honest. Its unfair that characters aren't noticed unless they're well known anymore.

On a bit of an unrelated note, what is you FA? I may have watched but I'm not sure.

and yeah... itsw been a long time. perhaps if i'd posted more of my OC's in the begining often enough for people to grow a fanbase of them. but its far too late now.

i was meaning in a general term. i understand mature stuff XD not everything i do is mature. but i been looking at other artists as well and when they'ed get swarmed seemed ot be lacking as well. i used to love reading through comments, now seems very little to read!

it's just a generalized observation not actually directed at just myself

Well that too, I agree that DA has been pretty quiet, but I think this has happened a few times, I haven't been on here long but I've seen it go up a down a lot. Wouldn't worry too much about it. :>

i find the best way to improve is to submerge ones self in it. being surrounded by art makes it easier to improve!
