Nooooooo, why must you draw me nice things? D:
Grah, I just want to pick you up and squeeze and cuddle you. It's my little kookaburra and he has a Christmas scarf, and gosh he is lovely, and perfect.
I love you very much, mate. Gosh, why must you be so awesome and sweet, I don't deserve it but gah, at the same time I just want to cuddle you tightly. Thank you so so much, you unnecessary art maker :'D
(I hope you don't mind me using him as an avatar until the end of the month, it's just too beautiful and perfect. Thank you very much. )

Phew. I was worried for a while that he wouldn't look right because believe it or not he's the first ever kookaburra I have ever drawn. o-o
It's weird how much I love the kingfisher type family and yet have never drawn any...
But i'm so glad you like it!
And i'm honoured you'd want to use it as an icon, so go right ahead. ;u;

Well, now you have~
He looks beautiful, mate, really. As long as they're fluffy and have big bobble-heads, then those are perfect kookaburras. :'D
I don't just like it, I love it!
I've actually been thinking of updating my icon, and then you went and drew me this beautiful little fluffy guy... and the scary thing is, I have a green scarf almost identical to the one you drew (maybe it's that sneaky Fellan mind link again... o_o ).

At the size of an icon, it's a bit harder to make out he's got holly on his scarf, so you could potentially use it all year round. xD
Yes, our Fellan link at work again. o-o
Or maybe it's just a skill of mine to know what... you're... wearing. Okay, that was pretty weird, i'm sorry. D:

Jackaburra In reply to Mousewren [2013-12-22 13:05:24 +0000 UTC]
Maybe I shall ;D
We need to learn how to control that... for good, of course. Not evil. No invading countries protected by magical jewelled belts for us.
I do have a lot of scarves, I'll admit. So the chances of me having a striped green one like that were pretty high to begin with :'D

;u;
Oh yes, of course. Maybe other countries not protected by magical belts?
Scarves are awesome. They're like my favourite article of clothing. Followed closely by hats... Which I never wear but love anyway. xD

Jackaburra In reply to Mousewren [2014-01-08 12:00:34 +0000 UTC]
... well, I meant more that we shouldn't be invading ANY countries but gosh you are persistant. :'D
Okay okay, maybe we can invade ONE country... I hear New Zealand is pretty nice xD
Haha, gosh, everyone tells me I look good in hats, but I don't like wearing them... unless I'm dressing up as a pirate or something, because then a hat is a MUST, I gotta show those other pirates who's in charge, now don't I? ;D

Mousewren In reply to Jackaburra [2014-01-08 14:33:09 +0000 UTC]
New Zealand it is. I will invade it, and hike it's mountains!
...Not very tyrant-like, huh?
Unless... you're a pirate all the time?
Reminds me of that guy from the movie dodgeball, who thinks he's actually a pirate. xD

Jackaburra In reply to Mousewren [2014-01-13 13:09:50 +0000 UTC]
Well it's not a country a lot of people will notice missing, so I thought it would be a good start while we build up our armies? :'D
Sadly, I'm not always a pirate, there isn't that much of a demand for kookaburras in the piracy industry. :c
... I haven't seen Dodgeball

We shall raise tireless armies in the mountains so our intentions are kept secret. Oho.
I think you'd be an awesome full-time pirate!
Kookaburra Jack, sailor of the roughest of seas, his laughs can be heard for many nautical miles.
Don't worry, it's not that great of a movie. xD

Tireless armies of emus, mwahahaha >
Well I guess I could keep a look out for land and other ships up in the crows nest... but I'd have to rename it the kookaburras nest :'D
ah, okay then
Actually magpies and bower birds would probably make better pirates, they always seem to be stealing shiny stuff, hmm...

... noooooooooooooooooooo no no no no no
no, how could you do this to me, it's too cute, it hurts, why did you draw me cute things! gah, look at the little chicken-winged fluff-ball, wanting his daddy to tell him more stories about humans, what do they look like, what do they eat, why can't they fly, where are their wings, tell me MORE!!
Thank you so so so much, my dear friend. It really means a lot to me.

Perry had brown eyes like all the other juvenile gryhpons, right? D:

Jackaburra In reply to Mousewren [2013-12-11 11:37:13 +0000 UTC]
Well, I never really decided on a particular colour, as long as their eyes are dark (and his are), it's fine. Then when they grow up their eyes change to a pale blue... which was kind of inspired by ravens. Ravens are born with dark brown eyes, which then lighten to gold and then fade to blue when they're all grown up :'D

Mousewren In reply to Jackaburra [2013-12-12 02:15:54 +0000 UTC]
I just know I read that juveniles have dark eyes, so I guessed a cute brown to show his big pupils. ;u;
And raven's a awesome in that regard. Choughs are also cool because their eyes go from dark brown > orange > red. Creepy but so awesome.

... birds are creepy o_o
Well, except people kinda do that too, most babies are born with blue eyes which then change to different colours as they grow... or sometimes they stay blue too :'D
Are you still hanging out with those cool choughs at the sanctuary?

Mousewren In reply to Jackaburra [2013-12-13 15:20:24 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah... I guess a lot of animal eye colours change (i'm thinking of kittens... other than Siamese and Birman cats. xD)
Unfortunately I haven't been to the sanctuary in a while. :c
But I do miss those annoying choughs. I liked sharing my noodles with them during my break. :'D
