I'm sorry andΒ  personally distressed for you with the loss of your cat.

Years ago we adopted this bruiser of a Black Lab. He was 4 years old an d his owners could no longer keep him. DukeΒ  (his name) was a sensitive soul - YES I said SOUL. The Hebrew OT translation for beasts or animals is nephashim (pl).Animals are aware of God's existence (Ps. 106) and possess personal self awareness (Numbers 21). Many folk are disappointed that their petΒ  doesn't "communicate" with them. Watch "Dog Whisperer" on the Animal Planet.

Cesar Millan has made it clear that our Dog (or cat) tries to communicate with us constantly, but it's up to us to communicate back their way not ours. My big Lab Duke and I had a close, close bond. We could intuitively "know" each other's thoughts. He had condescended to permit me entrance into his world. He was a gift from God.

He died some years ago; he had cancer. Our veterinarian gave him a painless, peaceful passing. He had taken care of Duke for 10 years.Β  We all wept.Β

Bless your heartΒ  ~ Dave

Thank you very much Dave. He is normally running around our basement when we open the door to the room we kept him in. We tried letting him outside, but he was afraid of the out doors. I opened the door waited for him and he never came. I called his name a few times, but he never came. I was devastated. I had, had him for years. Im sorry about Cesar, he sounds like a good dog and a wonderful companion. Maybe our pets will find peace. I pray God takes care of his soul. I know he will he loves all of his creations. Yes I also said soul. I believe anything that lives has a soul for it to live.

thank you for the blessing
I return it - Sam

When I need inspiration I come to your site and ponder your written thoughts.

For me, your prose & poetry generates powerful images in my imagination which I then struggle to record in my medium of choice. While I'm going to rest a while and do some reading.

Thank you for yhe note. My wife deserves alot of credit. She has a trained eye and will forcefully tell me to stop when the genius in the thing I'm fussing over is revealed.

Thank you, I haven't had much time to comment on your works recently. I praise them greatly. One day in the far future they will be mounted high upon a wall in a great art museum, and I will have the privileged to say I know that man.

Thank you for adding my small paragraph of writing to your favorites. It is a great honor knowing that someone likes a piece of your well enough to label it a favorite.

Hi Itachifan Girl!

I've been reading Free-Verse Poetry. You know your craft- the use of grammar forms like alliteration, assonance, consonance, etc

I'm still a babe-in-the-woods on literary. But hanging out with a gifted word-smith like you and reading your. stuff is getting me up to speed. - Dave

Hi Friend!
Finding a venue to get your material in a format for Public consumption is not really the problem. The Problem is "being found" ~ to make people aware that you exist.

We have lived in the Age of Information for some time now. The late Marshall Mcluhan gives a radical insight into the the nature of Information, which he saw as a Dualism of content & Media.

The upshot is we are buried in an avalanche of meaningless sensation by the Media itself. Our work is not just ignored, it abides unknown.

Are you sure you are not a writer? Your words help inspire me my friend, thank you for your pieces of wisdom. It's true this age is much different from others and being acknowledged is harder than being the shy girl who is the wall flower at a party. My writing teacher always told me "You owe it to yourself and your audience to keep writing." then I added this for the modern age "Even if it is through a computer screen. How is your exploration of the world of words going? I would love to hear all about it and help in anyway I can

Thanks for kind notes. You've awakened a desire long dormant ~ reading literature, in particular lyrical ballads & poetry. I drifted away from Romanticism and pondered over works of philosophy & theology.

But Scholastic-ism proved to be a dead end. I attended Bible Churches, studied Greek & Hebrew and Systematic Theology. But I knew practically nothing about God and His Son Jesus Christ.

I abandoned speculations for a simple Faith and am the better for it! - Dave

Well done, although I am not as dedicated as you are. I have barely studied the bible. I can rarely attend church, but yet I still am able to worship Him fully. I praise His Name and thank him for the blessings He has given me.

I am so happy to hear of your new desire. People rarely think of the images words can place in your head and it helps awaken your imagination in ways you think not possible. My family always thought that this was a stage and that I would move on to practice something more practical. HA! How wrong they were when I got into highschool and started my writing career by asking my teacher what he thought on papers I wrote. I am still young, who knows maybe ill become the worlds next J.K Rowling

I got your correspondence during a long season pondering the possible of synergy of verse & the visual arts.

For example, Byron's "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage" was deep well of inspiration for JMW Turner. For me, in high school English lit., it was a sure cure for insomnia!

But, my taste in story & verse has slowly matured. I think my favorite poet is Oliver Goldsmith and his poem written in couplets~ "The Deserted Village."

I'm also partial to Blake ("the Garden of Love") & Coleridge ("The Rime. . ." & "Christoblel").

However, the only free verse I'm familiar with is Jack Kerouac & Carl Sandburg ("I haven't been around the world, but I've been around...").

I'll tell you what, I downloaded an essay called "Free Verse: The Hidden Rules Of Free Verse Poetry - Writer's Relief, Inc."

Give me a couple of weeks. After I soak up some knowledge of free-verse structure, then I'll pen a critique

Also, to be informed, I must read all the verse you've uploaded on your site.

I am happy to do this for you and make it a learning experience for myself..

"I don't think I'll give up that easily?"

Banish this thought from your head! You're a creative writer; it's self-evident. You ARE a writer.

Take a stroll around your neighbourhood. When the people you meet want to talk about themselves, Listen to what their telling you.

Go on a field trip. Have an adventure! In your notebook write detailed descriptions of what you see. Works for me though I paint stories with media instead of words.

At the beginning of his novel "The Grapes of Wrath", John Steinbeck pens a meticulous description of a tortoise struggling to cross a dirt road somewhere in rural Oklahoma.

From this little seed Steinbeck establishes his novel's theme ~ Struggle.

Struggle, in fact, is the essence of the creative enterprise ~ sometimes I Hate doing art!

Thanx, sometimes I feel the same way about art. Either no one understands it, or they just don't take the time to appreciate it. Creative writing is one of the most difficult things for people to get into because this century is all get up and keep moving faster and faster not slow down and appreciate what has been given. Thanx for your support

IF YOU'RE AN ARTIST (I INCLUDE ALL WHO MUST STRUGGLE IN THE CREATIVE ENTERPRISE TO BOTH CONCEIVE A LIVING THING AND BRING IT TO COMPLETION, SUCH ARTISTS AT TIMES REALLY DO SUFFER!

JUST AS A MOTHER DRAWS NEAR TO DEATH FOR THE SAKE FOR HER UNBORN CHILD, SO THE ARTIST SUFFERS NOTHING LESS THAN A TYPE OF DEATH TO BRING FORTH A CREATION ACCORDING TO HIS OWN IMAGE & LIKENESS ~YET IS NOT A MERE CLONE OR ROBOTIC THING ~ BUT A REAL "TERTIUM qUID" A BEING WHICH HAS A POWER OF AUTONOMY, THAT IS, IT MAY CHOOSE A PATH CONTRARY TO ITS CREATORS] ORIGINAL PURPOSE FOR IT

CALL ME CRAZY IF YOU LIKEA BUT EVERY WORK I'VE PRODUCED OF ANY SIGNIFICANCE POSSESSES THIS "WILL TO BE!"

Nice, very poetic, but pleaze try not to message me in all caps, I feel as if I had angered you when I know you are placing your enfises on your words. you see my sight is very bad , and reading all caos is very difficuly for me. your words are very ture, for all artists now days don't put their emothions into their work. For a writer this is easy for words come from your heart as do the mind.
