i was told by my computer programmer parents (literally both of them were/are programmers) that it was saying that tools don't matter, only skill, which they said was stupid and i agreed with them.
but yeah what it actually means makes lots more sense

i've seen a lot of beginner artist go on about how they dont have photoshop or fancy pencils and thats why their art sucks, when a learned artist can do just fine with any old number two pencil or ms paint. a lot of beginners think that good tools will make them better artists, and while better tools does make it easier and more efficient they aren't going to supply more on skill
