I've been considering making a new account too but I'm fully stuck on the name... Was thinking maybe using my horse's registered name, Supreme Moonlight, but I'm not sure, and I don't really know if I want to lose my almost-two-years worth of gallery etc - I guess it's a good thing to restart every now and then, but I don't really want to let go...

Yeah, you make up your character and play them. Usually written in third person, but can be written in first person as well. Be as descriptive as possible, but try not to be boring - for example, a dead tree could be a 'gnarled mass of weathered wood'. Show, don't tell. You see your character's thoughts, words, actions, and the post is written from their point of view. You write what they see, but you can't control other people's characters in any way (that's called godmodding, and it's severely frowned upon).

The one thing with Elements is that it has a minimum word count limit for your posts - it's not too hard, 200 words - which I can usually get, even if I have no 'muse'. The aim is to give the other person/people you're RPing with something to work off, so the thread doesn't die.

There's a lot to learn, but it's loads of fun and it doesn't take long to get the general idea.
