Since the person favorited it in his gallery because they liked the image I would understand they don't have a problem with it. If they do they can hide the the message and delete the image from their favorites. DA also has a content filter for those who object to such material that can turned off or on. I hope that answers your question.

still kinda seems like a waste of time. if thanking them is such a big deal to you then why do you not do it notes? you see, when you post a pic of your art in the comments that's when it starts to seem like you're purposely advertising on THEIR page

People do that on dA, they do it on mine as well. I don't mind it at all, I checked your page and I can tell you really dislike anyone posting. When I see that the person dislikes posts to their page I don't. In this case the person favorited my image, gave me a Llama and a Watch which was very much appreciated. If you have further comments you may post on my page rather than theirs. Thanks.
