I did, I did. It's like any other town I suppose, it has it's good and bad sections. I just unfortunately ended up booking a hotel room in the bad part of town. I wouldn't advise not going there for college, Oakland and the Bay Area in general is a great place to study art, and that's where I plan on studying. As far as housing goes, I would rather have an apartment in Emeryville, which is, if I recall about 3 miles from Oakland. Not far. But that's my personal opinion. From what I saw while there, Emeryville seemed a bit safer.

Well, I'd have housing on campus.
Yeah, I've read up alot on people's thoughts about Oakland it is mostly just seems like any normal town as long as you don't go looking for trouble.
