Haha, I know what you mean! There are so many great stock-artists out there! I keep finding pictures, but I just have not had the time to do much drawing!

I originally began collecting stock with a comics project in mind, but later drifted away from it.

I'm only now coming back to DA after a long while, and recently spent a bunch of time clearing out all my watch notifications (more than 3000 when I started, and I still have more than 1000 to go through O_o). Mostly stock accounts, so I've been filling my faves a lot from that.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I spend a few days away working on homework and I come back to find a bunch of notifications. I will get around to them eventually, I just need to find a break in the homework!

I only shoot model stock if I feel that it's not there. For example, I shot my boyfriend and I with his airsoft guns. There isn't that much military stock available. I have tons of historical costumes. Maybe one day I'll get around to shooting them. There's plenty of pretty princess stock and not very much of, well, normal people.

Yeah. As a wannabe comic artist, it can be really difficult getting useful reference when a lot of people just want to show off their awesome costumes. :/

I'm refereeing to historical normal people. There's lots of princesses and not very many peasants. Very few people were fabulously wealthy landowners. Most people were either poor farmers or middle-class tradespeople and servants. It's almost impossible to find stock of historical average people.

For you, I suggest =SenshiStock It's individuals, couples, and groups in bodysuits. #LadyStock-Archives has a section for nude, anatomy, and pose stock as well as some modern stock. #ManStock has some modern and anatomy stock you might be able to use.

Yeah, I love =SenshiStock 's gallery. I've used a few shots in a couple of pictures, and I'm even basing the model for one of my minor characters off of Sakky as a nod. I've also been watching #ManStock for a bit. I'll check out the other, though. Thanks for the recs.

I don't do much model work, but you're free to use what I have, of course.

I can't get my boyfriend as a model very often. He's in the Navy, and he's stationed 500 miles away, so not only do I rarely see him, but also he's not even available sometimes for me to ask him to shoot a quick reference pic. We don't take stock every time we do see each other either, because...well...if you only saw your significant other a few times a year, wouldn't you like to spend most of that time just being together?

As for me, well, I'm not the best reference for a modern woman because I'm very petite (4'10") and have an exagerated hourglass figure. (36" 20.5" 36") It's not very common anymore. I also don't do the typical jeans/tee-shirt thing at all, period. Just not comfortable to me. If you need a '50s housewife, though, I can probably find something...

One of my sisters is built pretty much the same way (she's actually an inch shorter).

I've been trying to convince my other sister to model for me for my own (mostly unused) stock account.

I'm really quite fit and very thin...but...well...I look like I belong in another era. I have a child's height and an historical adult's proportions (and, to some extent, height, as being that short used to be common). I have really long legs for someone who's 4'10" because I'm not in any way a dwarf or little person. I'm just very, very short. That makes me an obscure reference that nobody is ever looking for, though, unless they're doing something in, say, the 1950s.
