As there are still some 5 visitors per day here, I do sometimes check this account. Since it seems to work again now I May be using it again one of these days for a specific kind of photography.

I was reading the other day on one of the admin's journals about how they added a lot of new hardware within the past few weeks... but that it seems as soon as they add new hardware they get a tonne of new members... and soon they are struggling with capacity yet again... it's one down side to the 'no limits' policies that they have...

Whatever the reason, if somebody paid for 3 months and only gets 2 weeks plus 6 weeks pure misery even so bad that he has to leave the account where was paid for, it would have been a general politeness of them to say sorry (but they only blame my provider or my system!) and it would have been a nice gesture if they would say we will still give you the three months where was paid for. So far they only put the blame on me and/or my provider. That, while a second free account works OK, and the account where was paid for did not work.
In my opinion it seems they rather have free members than subscribers. Maybe they have more income from the commercials than from the membership fees.

I agree... I am glad I didn't have so many problems. I know someone else who is not a paid subscriber but who has had all sorts of 'issues' - primarily with her 's (about half of them "stick" and for the ones which do not, she seems to get random other shots showing up in her fav gallery.)

Anyhow, sometimes I think it's an account specific issue, not a general overall dA issue, but not necessarily tied to the paid/free status. BUT either way... dA should have offered to at least transfer the subscriber status to the new account or something!

That is strange....almost like new accounts don't have the problems, but old ones do....I am slowly moving all my art from one to another....but it has been annoying....I feel for you!!! ~Anya

Hello Harry, oh yes, they have rules, and then some. The worst rule I find is the "thumbs" ratings. And to have favorite artists is not encouraged. If one rates one artist too many times, the thumbs go blank ......even though "some" of us have worked a way around that... but I agree, for an art site there needs to be a lot of understanding on the part of admin. The site I mentioned to you is about the best after this for showing works, but also getting some solid critiques; and the solid critiquers 'do" get around now and then. ~Anya

Harry, nononononon....if you critique a few works, you get extra points and then you can post more and more..say if you crit 3 works that have less than 3 crits, you will get points for those crits.......and just be yourself in them...... I don't like that rule either, so I pay the subscription....and barely ever post my quota...at the moment I am posting more frequent works here to move the gallery of old......
