Yes.  Actually, we were thrown off track by a series of major projects last year (paying ones!!) but we are getting back on track and intend to finish it up thisi year.

Love the fact that you're following it on the Website.  We will actually post it there at least a day or two before we post it here.  But we like the way people can comment here.  Still trying to find a decent widget to install in the website to allow comments.

I had fun picking out your arkwork; reminds me of how awesome Ocarina of Tim is! And yes, that cool idea has been going through many journal entries...I just never had seen it until now, for some strange reason. XD

Definately. I've only been to Huntington WV and Marietta OH's cons so far, but I don't know of other shows to attend close to home and how much to exhibit but hopefully I will see you in person real soon if you get the chance to come to Tricon 2014 or whatever.

So far the only local con we go to is Animarathon in Bowling Green, Ohio ...but we can check out Tricon.  We go to Alma, MI in Feb (it's a free table, btw...) and next weekend we'll be in CT for Camp Anime.  We also did a con in Buffalo this year which was a ton of fun.  Ironically, we get into more out of state cons than in state cons.  The ones down in Cincy and KY an WV always seem to fall on the dates we have scheduled for other cons. 

We were kinda hoping to get to the Cincinnati Comic expo this weekend, but we have been too busy getting ready for next weekend to take the time to go.  Mark McKenna is going to be there and we were hoping to get a chance to say hello in person.

That's very cool to hear such stories. It seems also (and no, not gonna be creepy, not my thing) that we don't live very far from one another. I thought you were more of a New England resident, as in you go to see Red Sox games I read up on a bit. River City Comic Con is right in Marietta OH where I reside and it's my flagship comics show since it's in town. I can give you a link to the con's website it's mkeaston.com/rivercity/ it is out of date since our last show was a couple months ago. One more thing about that show: I was in a powerpoint panel discussion with some other folks about manga and the American comics fan. It was great, though I felt I knew more about this kind of thing than the moderator. lol

No, you don't sound creepy at all.   We used to live in New England (Salem and CT) for many years - hence the Red Sox love.  And we travel back there every year to visit friends and family, so you aren't far wrong.  Sometimes it feels like we live our lives back there anyway even though we actually live in Ohio.  We'll keep a watch on the AA at River City for next year...we may just get in in time.  Be cool to see you there!

Aside form Tricon, there is also an anime convention in Huntington WV as well. It's called TsubasaCon I figured I might let you in on that show. It might be more expensive for an artists alley then Tricon's but both shows use the same hotel that is next to Big Sandy Superstore arena which is nice. 

I am a bit booked in terms of what I'll be doing in October, including a Zombie Walk event and I'm selling art and helping out a friend's local wrestling show/Humane Society fundrasier, so it'll be busy and fun at once.

We've tried and applied to TsubasaCon, never heard if we got in.  But we keep trying.  One day we might make it.  We have no idea what it takes to get in.  With OhyaoCon we submitted our portfolio and specifically stated that we will not be selling fan art since it was against the con's rules.  However, we assumed (mistakenly) that they were looking to judge artists based on how well they draw, etc., so we submitted original characters  as well as some of our fan art (but we again stressed we would NOT be selling fan art).  Then we got the message that we were flat out rejected because we had fan art in our portfolio.  So the following year we submitted a portfolio with NO fan art, just our own art and pics of some of the plushies we make.  We were again flat out rejected because our portfolio "didn't contain things that pertained to Japan or Anime".  That year, in the AA, there was a dude selling European Fantasy pictures.  And tons of people selling fan art. 

Not sure why TsubasaCon won't give us a yes or a no, but we'll keep trying.

Good to keep busy! We are winding down our Con season and getting ready for next year.

I try to not sell any of my fan art just display it to outgoers and here on DA, but that's too bad that they take fan art negatively. Maybe they were following some copyright laws that state they don't want to see what you like as a fan yourself. 

On the other hand, I feel that I wanted to focus more on my comic but try to get some fans built up, but I don't know if I have any more or less, or worse, they're not as interested. But I won't set it aside even if I'm making something else or whatever. But I won't ever want to sell out and hurt me more for doing that. Been worrying about getting public notice of me and what I do. Maybe that is why I made some changes in the current story, censoring myself so no more backlash can be made like it was earlier in the year. Maybe things will improve next year, I'll see.
