Have you been to Centralia lately? From what I've read pretty much all of the buildings are knocked down now. I was there a few years ago and there were still quite a few houses up.

look at my newest pictures. That's Centralia. All abandoned buildings are gone, 5-6 houses are still occupied, the road hasn't changed.

I was actually checking them out before I saw this. Yeah I know most of them were down, I actually thought they were all gone. The road has always been an attraction. One time we drove by the graveyard and there was steam coming out of the ground, it looked so crazy!

i have a snapshot of the smoke in the graveyard. and as far as people, they are still there, they wont move away from their homes, its ridiculous!

I read an article sometime last year, and I thought it talked about the last house that was still occupied & how the people were being forced out. I'm probably just remembering that incorrectly though.

You're probably thinking about the story about the mayor. He was forced out because they thought everyone else would leave with him.
