I'm going to be cosplaying Szayel Apporo Granz as my first official cosplay....Can you ask some of my questions?
I would appreciate it if you do. <3
1. Where can I get a cheap wig to customize??
2. How did you make the glasses?
3. Is your outfit store bought(or from internet) or did you make it yourself? If so, what materials did you you to make it??
4. How did you make the outfit?
5. I have a sword but I want to make another one to look like his, what should I use to make it and how can I make it?
6.For a video or photoshoot , what poses or acting should I do?
7. How do you make the holder for the sword?

Sorry for answering so damn late but my job is very exhausting and the convention season began here in germany.
I hope I can still help you.
1. Ebay. The answer to most questions, where to buy something from is ebay.
2. I bought some glasses I liked the shape of and costumized them with air-drying-clay. But when you remove the glasses, be very careful it can be very dangerous.
3. I bought the hakama on ebay, the top ist selfmade. I used some white fabric, I'm not sure anymore what kind that was. Just go with cotton, that is best for beginners. The black applications are just plain bias tape, I think it was made from satin. But you don't have to stick with that, just use the things that goes best with your personal taste.
4. I made it with my sewing machine XD. Or what was your intention by asking? Do you need a pattern?
5. Weapons are a difficult topic. Every cosplayer has their own way for crafting accessory or weapons. I think a good basic is wood and then you can modify this with air-drying clay or expanding foam. But in general you can use everything and by this I mean EVERYTHING as basis for your stuff. I once used a lit as basis for my screw for stein. Just browse through hardware stores to get some inspiration.
6. When you like a character (what I think is the case XD) just try and act a bit. Look at the chapters or episodes once again and just copy his moves or gestures. That is basically all I do before a convention. I also like to roleplay with my partners just to get into the mood XD.
7. I didn't make the sword and/or the holder. But for this goes the same thing as for the sword itself. Just try, you could use everything. But I would recommend thick paper as basis and just lacquer that with the fitting colour, or if the paper already is coloured that way just use transparent ones.
That is basically what I think or what I would recommend. It is very difficult to go more into details because, I wouldn't know how to describe it or I just do things without thinking XD.
Another problem is, that we maybe don't have the same things that are available in our countries.
