But! If, say a parent, made a deal with one to protect their child would the mark go to the parent or child? And what if the parent died after the deal? hope this isn't annoying to ask ;u;

I know right? He's a complete dreamie, I'm so weak for those things too, I was very tempted to keep him so I'm very glad you like him ;3; 


Well if a person made a deal with a demon to protect someone the mark would still go to the person making the deal since it transfers when they shake hand in agreement (it's sort of a signature on a document) so even though the deal was technically about the child they wouldn't get the mark. So the demon would transfer the mark to the parent who wanted their child protected. 
If the parent then died the deal would be broken (as if the contract was torn up) and the deamon will be slightly weakened for a while. The demon won't have an obligation to protect the child anymore since the deal is now non-existent, but of course they can choose to if they want to.
It's really no problem, I love answering questions about the species! ^^
