Points can be bought (you'll need a credit card or Paypal), or earned by selling art. They're the main currency here :) (Smile) People use them to pay for commissions, premium content, etc. They're also used as prizes in contests, as a little gift, etc. If points are used to buy a print, premium content, or a commission (through the commission widget), they go into Earnings instead of the artists 'regular' Points. Earnings can be withdrawn using Paypal.

Yes, you should definitely join some groups! In Groups you can submit your work so other people see it. Some groups are general, and others focus on specific topics. They're a good place to meet people who like the same things as you, and they're the best way to get people to see your work. You can join them by clicking the 'Join Group' button at the top of a groups page. Some accept join requests automatically, others need an admin to approve it. Make sure you read the Group rules before you join, if they have any. When you submit your work to the gallery, make sure you submit to the right folder.

There are thousands of Groups on DA. Unfortunately many are no longer active.This means submissions are no longer being accepted, or the folders are full. The easiest way to check this is by checking the comments people left on the groups page. You can find groups here groups.deviantart.com/ . Here's some groups you might like to get you started (I'm admin in all of them, so activity guaranteed ;) (Wink) ) Enjoy-Arts , Anime-Fanx
