When I was a small kitten, my mommy would share her worms. A curious lot we were, always wondering just how mommy got her worms. They felt juicy and tender, a fine pay-off for our hour-long benders. “Such naughty children,” she’d say. Foul-mouthed rats were we. A normal mother would make a run for it had she witnessed any of our endeavors, but not our mother. Our mother was our brother and among brothers come tricks. Oh she had a whole slew of them, worms being her front-runner. You could imagine her delight seeing our bums filled with her territorial markings!
