Thank you for the comment. That's very kind of you.
I don't post up prints if that's what you mean.

You're welcome, and no, that's not what I meant. The reason I was asking is that a lot of your paintings seem to have an overlying gray tint. This can (and often does) happen because an artist, instead of using a scanner, takes a picture of the work so that they can post it. If the artist didn't have a great camera(or it was taken in poor lighting), it can add a gray-ish tint. Now, I don't mean to insult your work-I like it very much-but I was just wondering.

I do take photos of my works and the camera is very basic. So what you're saying definitely applies. I don't scan because the dimensions of pictures are too big for my scanner.
To tell you the truth, I don't know much about photography. DO you think I could avoid the 'greyish effect' if I took photos in better lighting?

Yeah, I know what you mean about the scanner. Mine is only the size of a printer paper (A4, I believe?), and some of my stuff I can't scan because of that.
My mother used to be a professional photographer, but to be honest, I'm not an expert on photography. But I think that you could probably at least reduce the gray effect if you took the photos in better lighting. Natural light is always better than artificial, so maybe you could take the photo outside and lay it down on something so that it won't get dirty. Sunlight also shows the true color of things better and more beautifully. You could lay the photo straight down and take the photo from above. Of course the sun then has to be at an angle from you, or you will have the camera shadow on your paper.
I know that when you are taking pictures of people, it is best to take them on overcast days when there are no distinct shadows, but since a piece of paper is flat/2-dimensional, I'm not sure if this would matter or not.
Also, if you were willing to spend a little change (it would probably be less than a dollar) you could go to an office supply store and use their big scanners for your painting. Stores like Office Depot,...umm I forgot the names of others...But those types of stores usually have copiers and printers etc. that they charge only a small fee for. I'm not sure if you are near a store like that or how much it would cost, because the last time I've done something like that was probably about 6 or 7 years ago when I was a little girl.
If the lighting doesn't help and you can't go somewhere to get it done (or just don't want the hassle to go somewhere) I can only suggest you save up your money to buy a better camera or a bigger scanner. Maybe you can ask for that as a holiday gift? Haha, I don't know. I hope that I helped, but if you have more questions, feel free to discuss them with me.

Thank you very much for this useful advice. I'll definitely try to do something about the quality of my photos. I'll start from the better lighting as you suggested. I'll also try to adjust the colours and contrast with photoshop before posting.
I hope this will do.
If not, maybe I'll consider buying a new scanner.
Again thank you for your help and attention paid to my problem

Hey, you're welcome! And I hope that you didn't think I was criticizing your work or anything, because that was definitely not my intention.
And yeah, I'm such a dunce, I didn't even think about adjusting in photoshop.
Yeah, you're welcome, I hope that I could help.

I know your intentions were very good and you just wanted to help. Besides, criticism can be necessary and very useful.

Okay, good. Yeah, it is true that criticism is good, though I know that I do not like the feel of it, it is like strong medicine and will make me better in the end. Thanks for being understanding and kind
