Your words... are... cute... :>
My willingness to improve is visible to you?! ... I am speechless and honored!! But the journey is still very, very long for me.
You live in Belgium... It is one of the most fascinating countries I've ever visited. It is truly a place for adventures and delicious mussels.
I can speak a little bit of German, would it be easier to you than English?

Um... wow... I don't think anyone has ever called my words cute before!
Yes it is! Don't worry, you'll get there!
Yeah, mussels, chocolate, fries and beer, that's what we're known for!
What country are you from, if it's ok for me to ask?
English is still the easiest, my German is far more worse!D:

Sheehz, that's why I'm really considering to take a Dutch course or something...
I called your words cute because those really are. You actually care about strangers you just met...
I'd prefer to not to tell my home country... at least not yet. Guess I'm a paranoid or something, but I could always tell you the answer when I feel it'd be a good time for it. I hope you understand...

It's easier to learn Dutch if you already know German, it has a lot of similarities. That's why most Dutch people can understand it even though they don't really know the language. French has a lot in common with English, although the pronounciation is completely different.
I prefer to be polite, even to strangers, but I wouldn't really call it 'caring' though. It would be kinda hard to care about every single person I meet here on Da!
I never really saw the problem with telling what country I'm from. If it would be anything more specific, like city- yea, then I wouldn't tell it either!

I think Dutch is going to be hard for me to learn... I'd mix it up way too often with German. Though I could afford to lose my German skills, so maybe it is not going to be that hard.
I meant "caring" as how common is it on dA... you replied, that's all what I meant by it.

You can always learn the basics on youtube, that also gives you an idea of the pronounciation of the Dutch language!^^ You don't need to lose one skill to learn another, the languages might be similar, but they're still distinguishable.
Or maybe you could listen to some Dutch songs and search for the translation, that's how I learned the pronounciation of the Finnish alphabet and a few words too. (lol, for some reason I find Finnish an interesting language)
Oh, ok! Is it that unusual for people to reply?O_o

Ahh, but of course. I myself don't use Youtube that much, but I'll definitely keep your tip in my mind. :> Especially if it's full of exotic languages with impossible pronounciations...
Can you speak Dutch? I could some day tests my skills with you... Assuming if I ever get so interested.
For me, replies are unusual. According to statistics, only ninth person I give a comment replies back. I'm still on my way to know what makes me so uninteresting.

It's quite handy sometimes!
I speak multiple languages, and yes, Dutch is one of them.
What languages do you speak?
Lol, I should check my statistics, but I usually don't get many replies either. Especially not when talking to wolfaboos for some reason, they just tend to ignore my comments. Guess I flood them with too many facts all at once!

English and German. Not really a language genius yet. I plan to, lol.
Ironically the wolf lovers do often tend to reply to me (even sometimes in good sense), but the others who don't know me nor are my friends just leave it there. That's sometimes distracting, because I don't know did my message actually bother them, or did they just not have anything to add for that.

I love learning other languages as well! I'd love to learn Finnish and Spanish one day.
They usually ignore me!D: If they do answer, they do reply in a civilized way and usually don't flame, surprisingly. Except AnthonyS13, but I find him to be rather annoying.
I usually type an entire text wall filled with facts, I guess people are just too lazy to read them!

Ragwyn In reply to DiardiWolf123 [2010-07-16 20:22:15 +0000 UTC]
They may be lazy, but the others reading at your intelligent reply will probably drool after your thoughts.
Although if your posts would get hidden... that would be pathetic from them. Best to leave the best replied on , so you can ensure the freedom of speech.
Anthony's different... he has decided the wolves are the life for him. There isn't really much we could convince him to go away, it's not possible.

the more intelligent people who stumble across my comments often reply instead of the wolfaboos!c:
They rarely hide my comments, there's no need to either. I just sum up some facts, it's not like I'm flaming anyone. I've never had replies as extreme as on Anti-wolf though. Most replies I get are civilized, and I avoid the really extreme persons anyway most of the time. I won't be able to change their opinion anyway, so it's no use to comment on any of their stuff.
But if I ever get an extreme reply, I'll definately send in a screencap of it!
It's too bad, really. He keeps complaining about the 'war' and 'drama' between Anti-wolf and AOW, but he doesn't seem to realize that HE is the main cause of most of the problems. After all, he declared 'war' between both groups in the first place.
When he asked the people of anti-wolf to leave them alone, I said that he keeps coming to anti-wolf himself. I never got a reply back.

I wouldn't say you wouldn't be able to change their opinion, I think it's rather so hard to change their thoughts it's not worth it, other than a little entertainment.
When you are correct, they don't want to reply... they'll think that it's a best insult to you to ignore you. At the same time it gives you the victory though.

DiardiWolf123 In reply to Ragwyn [2010-07-28 16:16:41 +0000 UTC]
They can be quite entertaining sometimes. I'm convinced some will eventually grow out of it, I used to be of the same thought but it changed. I managed to convince one though that wolves aren't endangered at all.
They usually just stop replying or ask me to stop commenting because they don't want to get involved into an 'argument'.
It's no insult at all. To me it proves they can't back up what they're saying, while I can.

Every time you reply to me your avatar gives me a very spooky feeling...
Even if you can't convince one fully, you'll speed up the process. "Wait... Diadri or someone called like that said about it too." Then they come at you with regrets, saying how stupid they were in the first place. At it's best of course, more often they'll just realize the fact and live on it. :>
I've been asked to stop commenting as well. I've replied if so, please block me. Not everyone has done so, thus I've continued until. And having a discussion isn't an argument, you could even say there will be an argument unless you don't give up. Or other nice tactics.

lol, why? It's just a screenshot from the movie 'how to train your dragon'!
It's watching you...
I don't think any of them will ever come at me with regrets. Even if they're wrong, they still wouldn't admit it.
I'm thinking about writing some facts down about wolves with links to my sources, I'm starting to feel like a broken record, constantly repeating the same: 'wolves are not endangered anymore etc.'
I've never been blocked by anyone. I just stop commenting, otherwise they might start flaming.
Yeah, that's a nice tactic!

I feel like it's so close "it" is touching my beak!
Most often we are not able to make them to understand. Then it usually goes to annoy them until they get a burnout. After that anything's possible, they may understand or they may still stick onto their option, especially if they have a lot of friends.
You've written VERY good comments, I've seen that. They don't have a reason to block you if all you're trying is to explain. The bad thing is that they may just ignore your post because you must somehow "be wrong".

lol! That 'it' is Toothless, a dragon. One of the main characters in the movie! There's tons of fanart of him here on Da.
Usually they stick to their opinion, no matter how many facts say otherwise. Bah, I hate it when they send their personal army of flamers after someone!D:
Thank you! Yeah, they usually think I'm 'wrong'. Then they often ask me where I got all my info. Once I give them all the links, they usually just stop replying.

Someone wanted me to draw a draggie. I now have my model, but I need a lot of time for that attempt!
I hate it too, but since there is only so much we could do, I understand why most will see that as an opportunity for major entertainment.
I also hate they constantly ask for sources. D: It's exactly like on Wikipedia, except that on here you could say the source is Wikipedia. :>

Oh, you're going to draw toothless? You should watch the movie some time, I found it really cute!c: (although it is a movie mostly for children!XD)
It can be very entertaining sometimes, but I usually leave them alone if they're starting to get annoyed.
I don't hate it when they ask for sources, I can easily give them! But if I ask THEM for sources, they usually don't reply anymore!D:
Yes, Wikipedia has the answer to almost anything! But on the other hand, they'll often start saying things like: "Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, it isn't reliable!"

If one can be a child despite of him or her no longer being one... that has a major benefit. So I would still dare to watch the film.
You are like me on that one... bullying someone would not be nice.
When they find out they are not on the winning side... they'll give up very quickly. It's the true art of convincing, shall you make them believe you, probably so against from their widest dream.
I'd sometimes play with the Wikipedia, "well go and fix the error then", and to see how long will that "fix" remain in Wikipedia.
