well he was good in Remember Me. Some people can't get over the whole Twilight thing, but I can.

Never saw Remember Me. Just having read the book, and seeing how really awkward the main character is (and how many embarrassing situations he gets into) it just doesn't really mess with the whole Rob Patz vibe.
I mean, in every other role he played that I've seen (Cedric and Edward) he's basically been a castonova (though Edward is more of an unintentional creeper)

Eh, I suppose I can't complain, just wish everyone would compromise a bit more. How are things where you are?

About what if I may ask? (At any rate, thanks for sharing!)
Oh,I'm from germanyland, home to all wurst-jokes,lots of cows in the countryside and people that are Incredibly fond of lamentation. School/pensionsystem and health care aren't entirely perfect but rather great.
I'm quite okay with it

There's a lot of tension between the left and the right in our political system (but then again when and where isn't there tension?) and it's getting to ridiculous levels (at the time when I wrote the last comment, our national budget almost didn't get passed because neither side was willing to compromise- the right especially). I don't profess to know exactly what's right for my country, but anything must be better than the constant bickering (well... I guess there are ways it could get worse.)
Ah, wow! Not to sound like a brown-noser, but I love Germany- especially the country side, post-Bismarck history and the language (though I don't speak it... at all)

Whoah, so sorry for the wait,I'm very nervous with school and super bad with managing time
Hm, I see what you mean. Of course the possibility to discuss ang change matters is more than important in a democracy. But then again permanent arguments and no agreements are counterproductive as well.
We have something of the sort over here as well, two big parties that always have something around 35% , needing to form coalitions with the smaller parties in order to reign. Constant bickering describes it quite well, too. Well, at least we have a 5% threshold...
That's sweet but how come? From what I've gathered people see us more as those wacky Nazis, srsbsns-people or Beerland? And apparently German was invented for trashmetal. XDDD
Personally I thought that Wilhelmine Germany wasn't that uninteresting as well, mostly because it get's conveniently forgotten most of the time and the reasons that lead to WWI read like a collection of very, very bad jokes.
Do you happen to have taken a course in German history?

Demonic-Halo In reply to Zieberich [2011-07-15 02:27:38 +0000 UTC]
No problem. I do the same thing all the time (though, it usually takes me a long time to compose an intelligent response, because I'm afraid of sounding stupid).
Too true. The liberty to have open discussions and to choice which party you want to support is definitely better than the alternative. Although after watching the news some nights, I'd still like to storm the capital with an army of kindergarden teachers.
I guess no matter where you go or what you do there's always going to be problems. At least until someone establishes a utopia.
It'd probably be boring anyway.
Actually, I took a European History course (ironically expecting not to like the parts concerning Germany). Anything concerning Germany from the Holy Roman Empire up to the unification (except Prussia for some reason... but even then most of the focus was on the wars it fought with other countries and a bit of Fredrick the Great) was the bane of my existence. And then bam. (Personally, I find the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning half of the twentieth century fascinating though)
But yeah, most of the people I know feel that why about Germany, which the sole exception being that (for some people) everything sounds cooler (or more intimidating) in German...
Not that that's a particularly bad thing.

Ah, yes, that always plays an important role as well. Personally I noticd that the amounts of smileys I use and typos I make is proportional to how long I should have been sleeping at that point. Huh.
That, or in a fscist dictatorship. No more need to think! Huzzah! I always thought that Utopians would be smart enough to introduce things like hobbies and free time activities to the broad public
Oh, I can understand that. Whereas I always have some interests in the Antiquity, studiying European Middleages is as torturous as the questioning methods they're infamous for. With the exception of Spain and Portugal, maybe. Which other things did your European History course deal with, if I may ask?
Hm. I don't deem it cool or intimidating, naturally, but when I started watching Englishspeaking movies or serials I sounded like all the voices were spoken by the same actor with the same monotone tune for the entire time.
