You don't have to do anything for the Wild Card! Honestly, you've already been such a great support so far and that's all that I could ask for! To answer your question, Alfred starts wearing his glasses permanently in the next chapter, which should be coming out extremely soon by the way. I'm done writing it actually but my beta reader on FF.net is looking it over to make sure I haven't made any silly writing mistakes or anything.

Well, it's more like I want to. I haven't really done anything Cardverse related characters at all and your story is more than enough excuse to do so. Gives some context to the image so it's more than just a pretty picture (although I do love those too!)

Yeah, I feel realllllllly bad that I haven't been nearly as active as I used to be (or should be). My life got extremely busy all of a sudden during the winter and now that everything has slowed down I want to write, but I lack motivation :/ I actually have almost everyhting planned for the rest of the Wild Card, I just have to sit dodwn and finish it.

I haven't heard from you in a while either, now that I think about it O_o That's my fault though, since I haven't been on here as much. But I'm doing really good right now. I love the summer ^^ How about you? How have you been doing?

I wouldn't worry too much, I think a vast majority of us had real life issues that demanded our attention the past few months. But anyway you're talking to a college graduate now!! That was pretty much my excuse for doing practically nothing earlier this year. And I'm lucky to have gotten a job as soon as I did, but in all honesty, I'm still looking for something better. This place has me in more of a sales position rather than that of a designer which is what my real goal is. Other than that I just sitting back and enjoying summer! It's definitely my favorite season. I just can't stand being cold

I really can't wait to see what's in store! XD I'll have to have a re-reading session to remember everything, it has been a while

In the meantime though, I've caught up with Homestuck of all things (yes, it sucked me right up ) and watched Attack on Titan (the new hot thing apparently, but it kinda deserves it!). My friend Kel is also almost finished with her story "Never Your Hero"! It'll be bittersweet once it's done but it's been such a ride! I've got some pics planned for it's finale but I highly recommend you read it if you haven't yet

Ahhh congratulations!!!!! That's really exciting, you're like officially done with school now! And its good that you got a job regardless because you can eventually work your way up to the job you want to have! I agree though, summer is great! Yeah, it really is sooooo good to be out of there But the "job" was only an temporary internship unfortunately so I'm on the job hunt again. Keeping my fingers crossed that something comes up through my contacts by the end of the year, I can only apply to so many jobs, lol.

Yeah the heat can be a little off putting but that's what pools and beaches were made for (I'm getting to a beach this year if it kills me!)

I think I started it a little over a month ago....? I'm not sure exactly, I only know that I finished and am now trying to keep up with the updates.

I kept seeing a lot of fanart for it and some of my close friends were singing its praises so that's what made me check it out. It really is that good though, if you don't mind your feels being stomped on every few episodes. (There is some gore, too, just as a trigger warning). But the opening definitely gets the blood pumping [link]

I'm sure you'll get to wherever you want to be as long as you keep working as hard as you have been! Now that school's over for you, you can put a lot more energy into getting a job, which is great ^^ It must feel really good to be done with studying and writing papers and everyhting else.

I LOVE the beach, especially going in the water. I would probably go to it every day if I could, but I never get to go that much during the summer for some reason.

I never actually finished reading Homestuck but I know what's going on in the updates and everything else. I feel like the comic's going to end really soon though and that makes me so sad I haven't been into the comic that long either and I don't want it to end!

Do you know what the plot is of Attack on Titan? I feel like I would be more interested if I knew what it was all about.

Yeah at least that parts done, but the job search hasn't really been all that lucrative I know it'll take time but with nothing but time on my hands it's been hard to decide whether I should do more projects for my portfolio or should all that energy be put towards getting a stable job first then working on personal things? Not a lovely feeling to have everyday that's for sure

I'm pretty much caught up (when I remember to check anyway!) but I'm not sure how close to an end we are. I know it's the last act but from what I've seen it could last forever!!! If the fandom's anything like Hetalia's I don't think there will be such a thing as a definite end

It's basically about a time where humankind is forced to live behind gigantic walls because otherwise they would be hunted down and devoured by creatures called "titans" which appear like giant humans with weirdly proportioned bodies and smiling faces (almost comedic in a way). The story itself centers on Eren Jaeger and how he, his adopted sister Mikasa, and their friend Armin survive a titan attack after there had been a century of peace and years after join the military in order to help fight the titans that took their home. There's much, much more and this wikipedia article sums it up way better than I could without spoiling anything I'm not sure how far you want to explore without giving to much away.

I hate not knowing what to do or what's the best path to take, but that's me most of the time anyways. Half of the time I think I make situations more complicated in my head then they are in real life. I find that its best to just choose an option as soon as possible when I don't know what to do and stick with it. That way I don't end up worrying as much. Maybe you could do a half and half thing? Like, determine how much time you want to work on finding a job and/or working on your portfolio and then spend half of that time looking for a job and the rest on the portfolio? I don't know if that makes any sense but I think that's what I would do.

I really hope Homestuck lasts for a long time, even after it ends! I love it so much!!! And I love how the Homestuck and Hetalia fandoms are so supportive of each other too. That's probably a big reason why I checked Homestuck out in the first place.

Oh, okay, the show makes a lot more sense now! Thanks for explaining it to me It sounds so interesting. Was the show a manga first before it became animated? I feel like I've seen it as drawings somewhere...

That's pretty much what I've been doing. There's not much more you can do beyond applying until something bites, right? So I just try to stay productive through my work and hopefully have some good stuff come ou that I can add to my small portfolio. I've got ideas for logos and identities to work on which I may or may not put up here. I know of some sites I can sell them on for a good chunk of change so I was gonna eventually give that a shot

I think it's adorable how they support each other like that, to the point that one defends the other. I'm waiting to see if any good crossover fics come out because I've seen some cute comics and a few fanarts here and there that merge both universes pretty well.

Do you work with graphic design or something like that with the computer? Or do you just do drawing like what you have on Deviantart? I think its pretty cool that you can work on the kind of stuff that you enjoy and still make money off of it! And I'm sure that you'll find someplace to work someway or another. For now its kind of a waiting game for you, which sucks, but you're going to be fine in the end. ^^

I've read some okay crossover fics with the actual fandom personifications. I don't like many of the crossover fics with the actual Hetalia and Homestuck characters for some reason though. But I love the comics and fanart so far. Oh, and the interactions with Supernatural, Doctor Who and Sherlock are pretty funny too!

Don't tell me the spoiler whatever it is! It might stop me from looking at the show at all. Do you know if the show follows the magna a lot? Because I know there are some animes that don't and it drives me crazy.

Yeah, most of my work is done on the computer, although most of it starts as a pencil sketch It's something that's trained into you during school that it's better to start by making small thumbnail drawings to get the brain working and then taking the best ones into the computer for refining and whatnot My fanart drawings on DA are just for fun  

I've started reading a couple that X-I recommended a while ago, but I haven't really gotten back to them. I guess I'm just not that into the characters or something, I mean I like them but Hetalia is on a whole other level of love for me and maybe that's why I stick to that fanfiction. I can't just dive into a fandom, I almost have to soak in it for a bit before I really start to love the character and their world, if that's understandable. I'm kind left behind when other shows come along, lol. 

Promise! I'm not sure how much it follows the manga as I've never read it I just started watching the show when it peaked my interest so everything's new to me. I hear ya on that though, it's probably why they remade FullMetal Alchemist, as the second one pretty much follows the manga page for page, or so I was told.

How did you know that you wanted to do graphic design? Did you take a lot of art classes in school and decided that you liked that kind of art the best?

I just read a LOT of fanfiction O_o A little too much, actually, if I'm being honest with myself. But I feel like if I don't get enough of a certain character or pairing in a show or manga or whatever it is, then I can always go read fanfiction to get more of whatever I want. Hetalia is one of those fandoms that has really good fanfiction though, thank god. I haven't come across many other fandoms with as many great writers.

It really bothers me when an anime doesn't follow the manga. To me, its like the manga was popular for a reason, don't go changing the plot just because everything is suddenly animated! But I can't tell you how happy I was when I first saw the new art style for season 5 of Hetalia. Everything looks so much better!!!!!!!!

I didn't at first. I first started out wanting to do animation, but the process just proved to be too daunting and my heart wasn't really in it. But I always knew I wanted to do something related to art in my career. I settled on graphic design pretty much because it combines aspects of both traditional and digital art and it's a field where I can actually do what I want while still making a living.

That's why I got into Hetalia so heavily because the fanfiction was so good! I haven't been able to find that with the Homestuck ones. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but I also haven't really pinned down anything or any one character that intrigues me enough to find out about them more. It's like I said it takes a while for something (especially something as out there as Homestuck!) to grow on me. 

Oooooo how I fell in love all over again with Season 5! The designs are just so much easier on the eyes IMHO. Not that the last ones were bad, it's just you could blind someone with neon yellow of England's hair. Not to mention there were a few anatomy issues and some awkward animation at times. Didn't stop me from enjoying it though Bit it seems someone finally got there head on straight and made the characters actually reflect Himeruya's style. Talk about a beautiful world!!!

Yeah, its hard to get really into a fandom until you become emotionally attached to a character or pairing. I got into Homestuck because I was curious about the Zodiacs and what they had to do with the trolls. It took a while for me to check out Hetalia and Homestuck though after I first heard about it. It took me nearly a year for my friend to convince me into looking at the Hetalia episodes and even after that I didn't like it all that much. I don't really remember what got me so obsessed with it though...

Thank GOD the designs are better. Everything about the season becomes better because of that. Do you know if its still Sudio Dean or if the production was changed somehow? I don't know what actually led to the better animation designs :/ And have they dubbed it yet?

At first it was because I was treating it like traditional art. Not to say it's not important to it, it's that there's more to it than a pretty picture, such as layout, text size, what fonts to use and not use, etc. A good example is to look at a magazine page layout such as any of the really thick fashion-themed ones. It's hard to believe but a lot of thought is put into every single placement of every single element of that page! 

So, I guess it came naturally once I started thinking less like an artist and more like a designer (I still consider myself more of an artist, though )

Lol, the only reason I even glanced at Hetalia was because I wanted to see what America looked like! XD I was not disappointed! Although the glasses surprised me at first, because most people I know wouldn't be caught dead wearing them (me for example, lol, I don't like how I look in them at all) so it's not something I thought would be an accessory for the country's personification to wear. 

Believe it or not, yes, it is still Deen! Why they didn't have these designs before I'll never really know. I can only assume they got a better Art Director or something As for the dubbing Funimation still has the rights so it would be foolish of them not to dub it. But I don't see that happening til next year.

I believe you! It makes me tired just reading about how much you have to do. But I guess you must really like it if that's what you want your job to be like and everything. Its pretty cool that you get to decide what magazine pages and stuff like that looks like! Do you have a favorite part of being a designer? Or do you just like everything about it in general?

Ohmygod yeah, I remember now! I was obsessed with America- I still am, actually- and I watched all of the episodes just to see him! And then I read the Revolutionary War part of the first manga and that was it. I don't remember being suprised about the glasses, but the more I think about it the more I agree with you that its a little weird. I have glasses too, but I don't usually wear them in public all that often anymore. It depends if I need to look nice or if I'm going to see people I know.

I kinda wish they had waited until the new animation style to make the movie. The movie was great and all but it would have looked so much cooler with the better art style! I actaully don't like the dub of Hetalia all that much though. I feel like they make the characters say really stupid or dumb stuff that they don't say in the orriginal Japanese version.

If I had to pick a favorite thing about it, that would be typography. Seriously, just google it and you'll get so many extraordinary examples of hand-drawn type all the way to the meticulously designed fonts that can sell for $100 or more!! (Yes, you read that right) I'm a big color freak too, so I'm always drawn to beautiful color schemes no matter how it's used. They could just be laid out in a simple pattern or in some (seemingly) random configuration and I could look at it for hours if the colors flow together just right (it's almost an addiction, lol). 

They wanted to cash in on the popularity of the franchise so that's why the movie was made when they did ( could've done without the random scenes from the series...seriously, who thought that was a good idea???) Although I am not opposed to a new movie in that new delicious style As for the dub, I can forgive it a bit because I think, at least in the beginning, they were still feeling out the series and it's characters and probably thought that's what the fans wanted. Hopefully they've taken some of the fans concerns to heart and will try to keep some of the original flavor of the series and not make it too...well...American!!!XDDDD (Someone get the fandom the concentrate REALLY, REALLY, HARD and maybe we can have a less-obnoxious sounding America this time around. Love Eric Vale to death but there were points he took it waaaaayyyyyy overboard...especially that laugh, GAH!!!! DX)

Could you invent your own font and sell it? Because that would be really awesome! Could you imagine seeing someone or an ad or osmething use a font you invented?! It would be the coolest thing ever   With the colors, would you do really cool color combos for backgrounds only or do you also get to decide the coloring for words and everything else?

I thought the movie was good. I mean the plot was kind of weird and random, but most of the series itself is like that anyways, and I really loved that we got to see the characters for more than a few minutes! Seriously the fighting scenes were the best thing EVER!!! I wish the series was a little bit more serious s we could see more scenes like that but the show's suppossed to be a comic releif of some sorts. I always have this internal conflict with Hetalia because on the one hand, the idea of personified countries is so so so interesting and there are so many ways to interpret how each country would react, but on the other hand the show is mostly for laughs and each episode is super short But the fandom is fantastic! The fanart and everything else totally makes up for it! ^^

I've actually considered it! I do have a set started by it's far from finished and needs a lot of refining. It would be awesome to see someone use my work. In my own work I usually have a set idea already for what colors I like to use. And not just backgrounds, everything from the words to the content of the image itself. Even in my design work I'm sometimes free to decide the colors, unless there's already specified colors to use.

100% Agreed! I think this 5th season has more than made up for it though. There have been more somber moments and such to balance out the comedy. Not a lot but enough to keep the fans interested.

Did you ever consider doing something other than graphic design? Like going into some other kind of field like science or math or history?

I'm not sure how I got so hooked on Hetalia, to be honest. The show is okay but I don't normally watch that much of it, and I haven't read a lot of the comic either. I blame it on the fandom XD Something about it makes Hetalia so addicting! Even when I drift away from it I can always come back and be like, wow I really love Hetalia soooo much!!!

Believe it or not when I was really little I wanted to be a nurse! Talk about a turnaround, lol It wasn't until later I wanted to do something art related. I started with wanting to do animation but the work involved drove me crazy!! Same here! I used to watch the show a lot because it's all I was exposed to. Then I got the comics because I'm a completionist that way and wanted to artist's original works. But the addiction definitely started with the fandom, lol it is completely to blame XD!!! Nothing has compelled me to draw more fanart or actively involve myself in it's continued existence. 

(No worries!! Life is crazy here too...that and I'm lazy sometimes )

But at least you can draw what's in your head! I have so many ideas I want to draw but then when I try it turns out looking really bad and then I give up XD I think its really awesome that you can draw what's in your head and it turns out amazing too!!!!

I know right? My old digital camera only takes one picture and then claims the memory's full -_- But it's about time for a new one anyway, as that one was at least 7 years old (what can I say? It worked fine so I saw no need to upgrade, lol) Hopefully I will get one before the new semester starts since for a lot of projects we're required to take our own pictures.

It only took one picture? That's awful! But at least you're going to get a new one soon. Are you taking photography classes or something like that?

O_O I don't know anything about layering at all. How can you layer a picture? Forgive me if that's a silly question XD

I actually only took one, and I had to have a film camera for that one. Most of my classes are graphics design focused now and sometimes we need to take stock photos for a project.

Oh, no it's not silly! I forgot to mention it was a photoshop drawing, and I can put different elements on different layers in order to manipulate them or just get rid of a layer all together if I don't like it and I don't have to start all over

Oh, okay that makes sense. We have classes like that in my school too, but I have yet to take any of them. It seems like a cool class though!

I have never done that with any pictures, but then agian I'm not that technical with my photographs XD I bet the result is really awesome looking
