Also, I saw your journal.
A Canon Rebel XT is a really, really good camera, so I'm sure that problem can be fixed. Have you tried adjusting the ISO settings on your camera? If they're high, (usually about 800) that means lots of noise. Try lowering them. Cameras often go as low as 80 or 100. (Rebel XTs are awesome, so they probably go lower than mine... hah.) Also, lighting of course plays a part. If it's really dark, you're going to get lots of noise. That's where the ISO comes in. I'm not sure how advanced your are technically and if you knew all this, but I was just trying to help! Hope that did.
