# About me
I am me. The rest of this is useless fluff no one cares about. I do come with this warning: my natural state of being is Snarky and Sarcastic. Its all in good fun and usually I am trying to ease tension or make people laugh. If you get offended, sorry. I am intolerant of intolerance. Its a silly sentence but it should be known. And if I give a compliment I truly mean it and am not trying to deceive you.# Comments

Thank you so much! It's an ongoing process. I'm a huge fan of Markers/pens at the moment. I like your line work.

I've only recently started using markers to color. I like it, but have so much to learn about different coloring techniques. Thank you!

What kind of markers are you using? I loved learning with them. Every time I work on something I learn something new.

I've just been using Crayola markers while learning new techniques and Blick Studio colored pencils. Learning something new for each piece of art is part of the fun, isn't it?

It is. Investing in real quality markers make a world of difference though. Promarkers/prismacolor markers/copic markers on Bristol board is a dream in comparison. The color has more depth and is so smooth.

I'm definitely planning on getting some in the future, especially when I get more time for my art. Thank you for the advice!!!

Ah. Totally fair. Β I just looked at it and it is clearly up to your usual awesome standards. Β (Never heard of the book before though.) Things in my world are flying at warp speed. Β Whether it's into a brilliant new galaxy or is on a collision course with an over-sized meteorite that produces some noxious gas, remains to be seen. I'm fairly all smiles either way, so I guess that's good. Β Aside from being boring and lacking inspiration, how goes things? Β Is all well and happy with you and yours?Β

That's quite the visual. Hope it turns out well. Everything is doing ok here. Some hiccups here and there but over all well. Are you still painting?

Zimriver In reply to DaytripperV [2013-11-08 01:27:05 +0000 UTC]
thanks! Β I'm a big fan of imagery. Β I'm glad things are over all well for you. Β Hope the hiccoughs get smoothed out quickly though. Β Yeah, sort of. Β I paint when I can. Β I've mostly done acrylic lately, which is funny because I prefer working in oil, but it take so long to dry. Β I have a painting that I've been trying to figure out how to finish for several, several months now. Β Not very exciting though.

You can always send me a WIP pic. Sometimes an outside eye can make a world of difference. Kind of like I keep randomly asking for color advice on facebook. I tend to want to stay in the simple color palate but then I get all these suggestions and it brings a whole new thought process to it. I've really enjoyed opening up the idea process.

I'd be happy to, but I have no clue what a WIP pic is. Β I am apparently behind the times in the technological world. Β That's a really great way to look at it. Β My siblings and one or two friends have offered suggestions and they're okay, but not really fitting enough. Β I'd be interested to see what you think. Β So.. what is a WIP pic and how do I send it. Β

Frankly, I'm doing it for kicks at this point. Any genuine care about anything we'd been speaking of had basically ended after reading Conservatoon's FAQ...
Your most welcome for the page view, if you care about such things. I even took the time to view your gallery because your artwork was eye catching. Artistically speaking, I've always been a bit awed by how anyone can do something with markers...
As I've now had my amusement, I think I'm done here. Keep on rockin' in the Free World...

Aw, did I hit a bit close to home?
I think the funniest part of the whole things is that you think I'm a devote follower of Conservatoons. I'm not and I've told him I find his pieces heavy handed. He agrees. It is, of course, part of why they are so very funny.
As for markers, once you get some good quality ones they really become much more interesting and fun to work with.

Oh! She wants to keep this one going to! Amazing, you really are spunky! As for the heavy-handedness, even more knowledge I'd already gleaned from his FAQ.
I don't really get his humor, but considering I'm not the intended audience, that might be natural. So, where do you stand anyway? Libertarian, Tea Party, Republican of some sort? You know, I'm actually beginning to like you a bit. This is the most fun I've had with internet comments since one of my battles with ~Poopgoblyn some time back.
I'll even level something with you: When I decided I was a Communist, I knew it was going to be an uphill fight. You know something else? I don't especially care if I make sense or if I can be self-defeating. I'm honest about the past. Marx's work taught me that we must always look clearly and with an unbiased eye at where we've been. I know my past comrades have messed up bad. So bad it cost the Communist movement damn near everything it stood for. But the ideal is still alive, inside of my comrades and I. It is most definitely not alive in North Korea or China. Cuba I'm never very certain on...
I've experimented with marker from time to time, but they've never been good quality. I sadly lack a proper art supply store within an hour's distance. But as I said, I can rather admire anyone who can use them well.

I like how you start your post in such a teasing tone and then flip and try to be all buddy buddy. It's very, "You're so mean. Please be my friend." Simpering, that would be a good description.
I'm none of the above. I don't need a label to tell me what I think on political issues. I have a brain and I use it. Also, I'm not so short sighted or vapid to believe that what I think now won't change with time and experience. That would just be silly.
Not even Karl Marx believed Communism would work. Not until a big list of essential needs were no longer required. We aren't there yet. It works in Star Trek and that is it.
I started using markers in London, UK. But it's very hard to find the ones I like here in the USA and definitely not where I live. That's why the internet is so helpful, it's almost like I can shop anywhere in the country or, gasp, the world.

I see. If I'd wanted to be friends, I'd have watched your account. That way I could avidly follow your work and journals.
My ten years of study on Marxism has required me to use my brain. And, much like yourself, my views have changed over time. Believe it or not, I used to be an ardent Stalin supporter. Now? Not nearly as much.
Do you have evidence that Marx never seriously thought Communism would work? How about Engels? Like I said, I've been delving into this stuff for years, and I've not found any evidence of that. Super luminous travel is also possible in Star Trek, but does that mean we won't accomplish it someday?
I personally do not like buying art supplies online. When it comes to such things, I prefer to see what I'm buying first-hand. Is that a crime? If it means that I'll have to go an hour and a half away to buy markers, I will. I have yet to work up the nerve to actually seriously want to do anything with marker. Pens and digital methods have been enough to sate my artistic drive thus far. On the other hand, I've found the internet most useful for purchasing moustache wax...

What your saying is that you read something someone else thought in the 1800's and decided they should do all your modern thinking for you? And yeah, Stalin did great things for his people, I'm sure many of them would love to gush about his amazing leadership and governing skills. Sounds like Good ideas and critical thought just abound, or run away. Who knows?
I said that a large number of things had to be accomplished before he thought Communism could be achieved. Reading all my words may help you understand. Many have to do with the state of goods and materials and how they were manufactured or created. Also, that the entirety of society would have to change. He him self called it a Utopia. Look up the definition of the word. Do you think he didn't know it.
I guess if you really must be in complete control full time of ever aspect. But part of art in spontaneity and experiencing something foreign. Even if you could hold markers in hand at the store you can't get a real sense of what they are capable or not capable of. And there is no possible way of figuring out how they will feel or work once you have them home in your own hands putting ink to board. So, may as well dive in and have at. I'm not fabulous with them, but working with them has made what I do digitally better. Expanding my horizons, if you will. Not fixating on one thing until I cannot see the others.

Your really missing my point. What was written back in the 1800s makes up the foundation. It can, however, be deviated from or expanded upon as long as the core principles are not compromised excessively. If no one had ever progressed with Marx's ideas, we'd never have had the Second Internationale, Lenin and the Bolsheviks, or all the myriad movements during the "New Left" period. Marxism-Leninism is my core and foundation, but it is not an absolute. Even Marx knew that, and said so in his writings as I mentioned somewhere higher up in the thread.
I'm very well aware the definition of "utopia". However, I share Lenin's view that Communists are not Utopianists, but practical and realistic. Marxism is a science after all. Marx's High Stage, "End Of History" Communism may be achievable, but as you so nicely pointed out, there ARE things that need technological and human advancement beyond the current point.
Well, when it comes to art supplies, yes. But I see your point. That box on the shelf is no different than the one across the country/world. It's just this thing I have, with some items I could buy I genuinely like to see them first. Let us call it personal preference...

Eh it's no big deal. It's my own bloody fault for several reasons I'm sure. But let's face it, happiness and fun are a state of mind, they're choices and I failed to be strong enough to choose them. I get what I deserve.
Glad you're enjoying C. Springs. It's great that you get to spend some time with your sister and nieces, not to mention serial dating. That sounds like an adventure all on its own.
As for Hawaii, Hawk of course. Who else? Let's face it, none of your other friends like me, or even know me enough to like me.
Anyway, sounds like things are going pretty awesome for you, which is... pretty awesome. I'm glad they are. And now my run on babbling is getting a little... awkward soooo.......
