Is there any chance I could commission you to add/make an optional "Always on Top" window button for Elementary?

Could you point me to any SVG mockups that have the bottom toolbar (like in Noise), the left sidebar (like in pantheon-files), and/or the right sidebar, like in Noise. These Granite elements seem to be missing from your "ele GTK+3 mockup toolbox".

I don't know, how do you done this, but Elementary OS is coming to be the first distribution, which is simply works, and everything is re-thinked and re-imagined in this pixel perfect screen.
Only 3 things what I miss:
- a trash on Plank
- a recent documents place anywhere in the screen
- and a favorites segment in the side of Pantheon Files
If these will appears, Elementary is coming to be my first class OS
Congrats! Great job!

The Personal category on the side of pantheon-files holds gtk-bookmarks. By dragging a folder into that category, it gets added as a gtk-bookmark to the sidebar.

Did you have an implementation idea when designing the merged toolbar/titlebar, like wayland or chromium client side decoration, or was it just a creative outburst?

DanRabbit In reply to wayp [2013-05-04 18:48:38 +0000 UTC]
There's actually work being done upstream in GTK+ for client-side decorations. So as soon as that lands (gtk 3.9?) we can take advantage of it

They aren't We pushed off the development of Audience until Luna +1 because of the availability of newer/better libraries and the time crunch to be able to do what we want to do with it. And as far as office, we just don't have the manpower to take on such a big project.

Hi Dan:
It seems I'm not the only one that have been wondering this but, are there plans to merge the window buttons with the toolbar on every app? There's been a huge load of mockups on which this is featured.
Thanks for the time! (:

I hope to get some more news about this feature soon, since it has been quite controversial for a while but, at the same time, changes like these make the difference.

Hi Dan,
I just wanted to ask you about some bugs that are kind of annoying, and given that nobody seems to have given any attention to them (there are some other affected users, but no updates on the bugs), can I have your input on these bugs?

This isn't something that would fall into my area of expertise, unfortunately. But it looks like there has indeed been recent activity on these reports.
If you're the OP, it looks like you know how to solve the problem. The best way to propose a change is to make a branch merge request on launchpad.

I thought I knew for #63, but that fix didn't work.
I do have a workaround for #68, I just need to adjust the timings a bit.
Thanks for the news!

Daniel, I had a request & a question.
Request: Whilst we 'maximize' a window, can we have a better, fluid & consistent animation? Something better than what we currently see in Beta I? Something like when we 'maximize' in a Mac. Please consider inculcating something very fluid like that.
Question: Will the new way having options, search, etc between 'close' & 'maximize' be realized in Luna? *'btw, imo it's the best innovation, yet*
I am glad to be one of the early adopters & registered members with elementary. It's pure pleasure.
Long Live elementary!
