hey there:
yes i have been looking at a lot of melancholy images, to create/form, in my head, words/forms for my new poem,
"BRIDGE THROUGH TIME"
which is now complete. Somehow, gazing at images and listening to certain songs over and over, like 20, 30, 40 times, makes stuff form in my mind.
I write surreal illustrated poems
Both music and images create for me, "altered states' which jump start, as if lightning, creativity, or, enhance whatever I already have going.
The music that i have played dozens of times to help form this poem, "BRIDGE THROUGH TIME," are 'Sadness,' by Enigma, "Further,"by 'Samael,' "Intervention," and "My Body Is A Cage," by Arcade Fire, and a memorized version of "High Hopes" by Pink Floyd/David Gilmore.
Thanks for the thought ! I just don't write 'light stuff' I reckon !!

Well i'm glad to hear that you're using peoples work to influence your own work, and it's nice to think that i could have played even a tiny part in that. Those songs are all very inspiring. My personal favourite for encouraging a melocholy state is 'Colors and the Kids' by Cat Power.
