# About me
WELCOME TO MY MIND.Hey there! Call me Cy. I'm an aspiring author, hobby artist, music lover, and all-around eccentric. I also wear a funny hat!
WORDS OF WISDOM
"If you're going to survive in this world, here's what you need to know: You are who you are, not what people think you are." -Jones
Can't stop my ambitions, can't stop my commitment
My very existence is winning the game
Every minute I'm given I'm thinking
Of living it different, you live it the same
A vivid display, what are you thinking
I'm building a vision, you're digging a grave
I'm in a position to have an opinion
Don't need your permission to give it away
-From Ashes to New
I laugh, and the world laughs with me. And by the world, I mean the canned laughter track in my head.
If you can't make fun of yourself, you probably shouldn't be making fun of everybody else.
Be kind to all, but respect few.
I had to invent a lot of headcanons for my story and if they're ever disproven I will throw a sock at Justin Trudeau. -Me telling my sister about the fact that I made a lot of headcanons for the Hollow and how upset I will be if they are disproven in future seasons.
NOTABLE TRAITS
-I'm 21 years old.
-I rant about social media a lot.
-Frequent status poster. Watch at your own risk.
-Mixed-bag artist. I play with style and medium quite often, though I prefer a comic-book aesthetic--- traditional linework colored digitally.
-May or may not advocate the throwing of chickens.
-I eventually want to run a YouTube channel about all the things I'm passionate about.
-Christian Metal Enthusiast
-Bible nerd.
-Sci-fi nerd.
-Likes miniature stuff, particularly if cute.
-Trapped in the Hollow fandom until my fanfictions are complete. I'm legit not allowing myself to get into any new fandoms until those stories are done.
CURRENT MEDIA
Traditional
-Bic Crystals for most general sketchbook content. It's basically a confidence-boosting pencil. It shades, it draws lightly, and it creates a unique look. And best of all, it doesn't smell inky like other writing pens.
-Pencils, Microns, and Sharpies for more professional content.
-I color my sketchbooks with Crayola Twistables. I like 'em because they're convenient and I can actually do some good-looking stuff with them.
Digital
-My main art program nowadays is GIMP. I use it to color ink lineart or to digitize and improve upon sketchbook drawings.
-And get this--- I use a mouse!
Other
-I make my own figurines from Play-Doh and paint them with acryllic. I also customize toys sometimes.
-FeralHeart mapmaking is an art.
MUSICAL TASTE
Metal
I enjoy alternative, symphonic, progressive, power, industrial, nu, and electronic. Any mix of these is always welcome. (I'm still waiting on industrial power metal to be a thing.)
Rock
Hard rock is my favorite, being so close to metal. I grew up with the 2000s version of this style so it has nostalgic value to it. I also enjoy regular rock, pop rock, alternative, and even soft rock when I feel like it.
Electronic
Let's be frank--- I prefer my electronic music to be about as heavy as my metal, if not fused with the metal itself. Fast beats, crazy noises. Aggressive D'n'B has to top it for me. I like a little dubstep flavor sometimes but I don't listen to the genre on its own. Conversely, atmospheric music, a style with no beat at all, can be very relaxing and ethereal to listen to when I'm in the right mood for it. I also like synthwave.
Favorite Band
This list is always changing. However, my top favorite band would have to be RED. I love everything about them. My favorite album is "Of Beauty and Rage".
Artist recommendations
For metal, I'll rec Darkwater (symphonic progressive), Pyramaze (power progressive), From Ashes to New (nu metal), Believer (thrash early on; becomes more technical later), Argyle Park (industrial/experimental), and Fight the Fade (Borders nu metal and electronic metal).
For electronic, I'll rec Scandroid, Raizer, Celldweller, Voicians... just to name my favorites from the FiXT roster. I'm a huge fan of the label as a whole and you should really check out whoever sounds the most interesting to you.
MENTAL HEALTH
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
The real deal. Not the kind everyone says they have when they develop the slightest inclination toward perfectionism. No--- I had full-on OCD as a kid. Everything is fours, rhythm obsession, HATED ticking clocks. Compulsions controlled my life. It's a lot for a 2nd, 3rd grader to handle. Had my last major bout with it in 5th grade with minor flare-ups since. I've learned to recognize an OCD thought and crush it with ease. By music, willpower, and the grace of God, I'm free from this dehabilitating condition's effects.
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
Not much to explain here, people know what this is.
Tourette's Syndrome
Undiagnosed, but I'm pretty sure it's what I have. I've had tics my whole life but always blamed it on OCD. But after I tried to keep myself from doing one last year, I had a VIOLENT head tic and I... kinda made the problem worse? My tics had been subtle all through high school and that one semester of college I took. Nowadays I mostly blether nonsense about chickens. I'm not embarrassed. Just annoyed. Yet also amused! XD
Asperger's Syndrome (ASD)
Yeah, I'm autistic. If you have a problem with it you can take that up with my chickens. Err, brain wiring. This isn't so much a mental health thing as it is a neurological condition--- a difference with which I was born. As a result of this wiring I'm socially awkward, socially anxious, obsessive about my interests, emotionally weird, picky about my food... Goodness, I could go on all day about how much this is ingrained into who I am. It's responsible for a lot of quirks, both good and bad. At the end of the day, I'm different. So what?
RULES FOR NOTING ME
-if you're a stranger who wants something from me, I don't feel obligated to respond or do anything you ask me to if you watch me before sending me the message. I won't just write or draw for you just because you sent me a private note asking me to. I tend to ignore this sort of message so don't expect a response.
-On that note, PLEASE don't send me any message asking me to draw your original characters, particularly not for a fandom I have shown no interest in. I do NOT respond to these messages and I see them as a way of grabbing quick art for your characters that you absolutely did NOT earn. This is a trolling behavior. Stop this.
-If you've watched me for some time, given feedback, and if we're friends, then I'll be glad to respond. :> My close friends can open up to me about anything and I'm willing to listen and offer what condolences I can.
-No politics please.
-Story and fandom chat welcome.
RULES FOR REQUESTS AND COMMISSIONS
-Requests are for friends only, unless I'm the one requesting to draw your character, whether by personal askance or in a "doing requests" journal. But I don't draw for random strangers who turn up at my doorstep wanting me to draw their OCs or write their idea into a story or whatnot. That's not the way Cyrokin works.
-Commissions are currently unavailable unless you're paying in points.

Oh hi there! Yeah, of course I remember you. It's been a few years.
I've been pretty good, though stressed out. I've been focusing on my writing, mostly, though art has, of course, been coming out when I make it. That is when I'm not at work or too tired afterwards to make anything. At least I have 3 days of no work each week to do with as I please. :>
How has your life been?

Yeah, you didn't make it awkward for me. We both accompanied each other in awkwardness, really. XD I was at a place and I liked some girl's shirt, so I sat there staring at her from under my mirror shades until we had to leave. XDΒ
That's basically me whenever I want to contact anyone, there's the long time of hesitation and then after a few months I finally just message them and then they never respond and I'm just sitting there like "Oh... well then."

Well, if nobody can see you looking... XD
That would be useful.
Yeah, the worst he can do is not respond. But even that would make me upset. But since we are friends and I'm armed with a question, I doubt the likelihood of him not responding.

I'm more comfortable with looking at people's faces while wearing sunglasses. :> It's less nervewracking for me.

The one time I wore them at the college Roger mistook them for prescription sunglasses. Well they might as well have been. XD I actually looked at him straight in the face with those things on. They need to prescribe sunglasses to people with social anxiety issues.
Too bad I can't wear them to work. :T

I was talking to a friend once and we both agreed that it would be funny if they created contacts that you could wear that serve the same purpose as those prescription glasses that serve as sunglasses in the sun. I'm tired excuse the rambling, friendo XDΒ
that is is a sadΒ

SUNCONTACTS
I couldn't think of a snarky slogan for that so I'll just leave it at "Suncontacts".
There are some ugly shoes in that shoe department. XD One which I've deemed the Ultimate Ugly Shoe. It's tall, it's a dark shade of greyish green, and it has bright orange laces running up the entirety of the shoe. The second ugliest shoe is fuzzy leopard-print... but hot pink on the inside. 0_0
I've only been working there for around a month and I already have some stories. Stories of screaming children, shallow priorities, and sloppy females.

What's worse is the green-and-orange monstrosities have ended up in the tried-on-shoes boxes more than once...

I was never as big of a fan as you, but I'm taking it pretty hard. I grew up with LP, like many. They were a big part of the soundtrack to my rough middle school years lol.
Also, here's something for you:

I was ironically into a Linkin Park phase here just over the past few days, specifically the personal, band-member side of it rather than the music. I'd just achieved a real admiration for the guy beyond just for his voice. I was at work all day today and didn't hear the news until about a couple of hours ago. I had to refresh the pages I had up, saw a vocal cover dedicated to Chester Bennington. I clicked on it from curiosity and was shocked when I found out it was dedicated to him because he had died. I had to go to my room after that just to process it. Like losing someone I was just getting to know.

:> Honestly I could publish without the degree, but having one always helps. XD UI've also found my first semester of college to be a rewarding experience. I mean, I have irl-friends that I can hang out with somewhere other than the internet now. One whom I have a crush on. X'D Ah, life.
On a different note, have you heard of the band From Ashes to New? You seem to know a lot of more obscure bands so I'm wondering if you've listened to them.

Life is strange XD I went from having no social life to having a social life, then to losing my social skills because of having to drop a semester. But there are a few friends who have showed support/kept me interacting with them while I'm away, so I'm grateful for that.
I love them, though I have to step carefully. XD I may have changed my policy of swearing in music just a bit, but I still do have to watch it with these guys. But I like their music a lot. They're like Linkin Park but more metalcore, and I honestly kinda like them better...
