I'm a noob at writing but I think maybe you can add more feelings to Amaterasu...
In the game the MC didn't really show any other emotions... He was only flustered, rude, sad etc.
Maybe you can give a personality to Amaterasu and make him express more feelings... Maybe the feelings you felt when playing DDLC?

To be completely honest, I didn't play DDLC. I only watched a let's play. For shame, I know!
