well, not very active to say the least... I suppose it is because nobody submitted artwork recently... the previous batch was rather small...
I guess we should all add a stamp on our journals or something in our signature to recruit deviants into this club...

Hello! Isend a note already!!! I submit two portraits...
But I don't see here any works for critiques at all...
How long it takes?

ConstructiveComments In reply to herrerojulia [2006-03-11 21:41:43 +0000 UTC]
The works can be found in our journal, not our gallery, and I update the journal once 5-7 people have work to be submitted. I have your note(s) and your work will be added to the next journal.

nietzsche was soooo full of himself
he never out-and-out called himself an ΓΌbermensch, but you know that's what he believed.

Talescaper In reply to LadyMac [2006-04-22 11:05:21 +0000 UTC]
Actually, he did not. Not only did he state that there were no examples of the ΓΌbermensch in his time, but he was also know to be very depressed and dissatisfied with himself.

"Peace" and "order" are alternate words for mediocrity and appeal only to weaklings and sycophants. All who refuse to resist the mundane condemn themselves to the flaccid bosom of trivial ignorant mediocrity (aka "peace," the religion of hippies and internationalist traitors). Mayhem is liberation. Rise forth with a clenched fist!

Oh yes, Nietzsche all the way!
(I wonder how many people know what I'm talking about??)

Nietzsche?! Nietzsche was an order-loving putz! He coined the term "ubermensch" and was one of Hitler's inspirations. Hitler was not only an order-monger, he was the third antichrist!
π: 0 β©: 2
Talescaper In reply to IggyHazard [2006-01-30 22:37:32 +0000 UTC]
However, Nietzsche himself hated the nazis. It was his sister who transfered his ideas into the nazi-thinking. And I'm not entirely sure if Nietzsche was 'order-loving'. He did disagree with the concept of religion and its slave-mentality.

IggyHazard In reply to Talescaper [2009-11-06 17:04:17 +0000 UTC]
I have my own concept of ubermensch. Ironically, even though I oppose order, I believe in civility and civilization. Order (which, by nature, implies oppression) is for the savage.

But not peace! And order only if the great people are the one's setting it!
Who were the first two?

IggyHazard In reply to ConstructiveComments [2005-12-20 02:55:10 +0000 UTC]
Charlemagne (Charles the "Great" -- as in "great murderer") and Napoleon Bonaparte, believe it or not. What separares an antichrist from an ordinary tyrants isn't their kill record or their doctrine but their cause of resurrecting the unholy Roman Empire. "Third Reich" meant "third empire," referring Rome. Rome has technically had six incarnations, under three forms, with the seventh and fourth being the final.
What does this have to do with mediocrity? Well, to me, mediocrity goes hand-in-hand with collectivism which is the order of the day all over the world and has been for far to0 long. Our Nation used to be the beacon of rugged individualism before pantywaist suit-wearing metrosexual pencilniks became the ruling class. We need warriors, not bureaucrats.

This is really fun. I like being able to help people who are open to the help (anyone asking for CONSTRUCTIVE comments shouldn't be so offended when recieving suggestions on how to improve, now should they?).
I really can't wait to get other good photographers really ripping my work up. One of the only ways to get better.

Great idea. Constructive comments, provided they're not amazingly harsh, are really useful.
