Though I do find college is a lot more forgiving than high school ever was, I just hate the idea of going back. Two years is a long time and I feel like I already made it, but my company really wants me to go back D:!

Oh, wow! That's really neat!

Computer engineering is a very good job.

At the moment, my only stable job (the other one is more of an at home sort of thing -- journalism stuff) is my part-time work at the local Chick-Fil-A. XD But I am just a student, after all (and I am happy there, though I can barely stand the sight of chicken anymore ;.

I'm hoping to major in Chemistry or Pre-Med/Nursing.

I can understand where you're coming from. And if that wasn't enough, college is also super expensive.

The whole concept is unappealing, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, especially if your company wants you to finish.

It 'll be worth it in the end, though.

Oh god I remember working in fast food, yeah the local dishes really start to make you shudder when you can have them whenever you want.

The main reason I don't really want to go back is- well there are numerous reasons. But just want more time, and when they pay for my tuition I'm going to be locked into staying with them for x or so years, which is reasonable just I'm paranoid Dx

If my memory serves me well I think Chemistry takes a long time to complete now though doesn't it? My mother is a nurse herself (there are two kinds, I don't remember, but she's the higher one. LPNs and RNs I think?). You take similar courses regardless since they're both science majors, but just take the one that interests you the most! Etc etc you've heard this advice before.

Maybe one of these days I'll be doing what every nerd dreams about and make games or talk about games for a living, but for now that's hobbyist stuff, and frankly after programming 8 hours a day it's pretty hard to make myself sit down in front of UDK at home to learn to make mods!

There's nothing wrong with being reluctant about that. Contracts are tricky things, especially if you'll be bound to the company for awhile because of it.

Perhaps, but most scientific/medical fields usually take longer than other subjects. I enjoy chemistry though as well as helping others, so hopefully it goes well. Competition is an issue, though. Medicine is very high in demand, but a lot of people want to go in the same field.

I'm sure you'll get there! Just as long as you keep doing what you do and keep your options open. Broaden your horizons.

Yeah there are definitely a lot of nurses out there, and some very rough jobs as well. Don't know much about the chemistry stuff though so can't really compare the two for you!
