I adore your poetry and can relate. I can't relate to blended scotch though-I prefer a single malt. Have you ever sipped on Glen Breton? Excellent Scotch.

thank you so much for the words of encouragement... i have had flashes of ideas for new works, but it's invariably while i'm unable to capture the idea in writing and then it's gone.
i plan to be more dilligent about having a way to record future inspiration!
i've had single malt on and with haggis at a Robbie Burns dinner and at a 'tasting' at a Celtic Fest.
A man i miss as a friend who is the Uncle of my lost love and I share a bottle of Glenfiddish single malt. He stated it is traditional that only he and I were to drink from that bottle...
I so miss him, my love and that Scotch!

It's not much better here in the UK, if at all. We have pubs and bars that refuse entry to our soldiers. FFS, the boys don't ask to be sent to Iraq/Afghanistan. They follow orders.
Mind you, I'll bet your service personnel don't have to rush around military surplus stores buying kit before they deploy. Many of ours do, otherwise they'd not have half the stuff they need

I thought the government proves everything a soldiers needs. They put their lives on the line.

Far from it. An inquest last year found that a group of our soldiers were killed because they weren't issued with the kit they needed. In another, a soldier was killed because he'd been ordered to give his bullet-proof vest to someone else.
A friend was in the first wave that went out to Iraq and before he left, we trawled all the army surplus stores to buy kit he needed. I'm not talking about luxuries either. We had to buy boots, eating utensils, plate, mug, etc. Disgusting

our guys face that treatment on the college campuses that purport to advance expression of all ideas ~ ironic, in that they'd not have that ability were it not for our shipmates defending that right!
