Hey, OF.
Is there any way you could send me a copy of Ice Moose, (and the Stanley Christmas episode I'm pretty sure you don't have.) I can't guarantee I have anything you'll want to trade for, but I'm willing if you're willing

Sorry, I didn't see this message until today. Actually I have both episodes! PM me a list of stuff you have and we'll see what we can work out.

I reviewed the episodes in italian, since my blog is written in that language. I'll draw you a picture as soon as possible, I hope this week. What was your favorite episode of the bunch? (Tub O'Butter, El Dorado Seat of Gold, Poor Bubbles and Poodle Power). My favorites were El Dorado Seat of Gold because it was kinda funny, especially when the otters wanted to play with Eldorado and Poodle Power because it tells a great lesson .

Great reviews! I enjoyed reading them! (I used Google Translate) And since you asked, here are my thoughts on them, more or less my reviews of them.
My favorite of the bunch is definitely Poodle Power--great lesson, great songs, and some definite funny moments like the song when PB&J and Ootsie and Bootsie first enter the toy room. I love everything about the episode, and it's definitely on my top five.
El Dorado is great too. The fact that they actually made an episode about a toilet seat is funny on its own, and Flick was pretty funny in it. I like when he throws the "boomerang" and realizes that it "must be busted!"
Poor Bubbles--I gotta be honest, I really like the song in it. I've heard Bubble-O Popple-O so many times on my Playhouse Disney CD that I've lost count. The episode itself is pretty good, but perhaps slightly slow paced at certain points. Predictable and cliched ending like you said in your review, but still a cute story.
Tub O Butter... Butter's one of my favorite characters, so you can call me biased when I say that I really like this episode. It's a cute story, and it's one of those rare instances where an episode of a show works so well that it doesn't necessarily need to be funny to keep my interest. It does of course have some funny moments like Butter imagining the tub of potatoes as a sailboat.
I'll keep an eye out for your drawing this week!

I love your reviews too! Poor Bubbles had a catchy song in it and it was cute but nothing exceptional, I prefered "Bye Bye Bubbles" over it. I miss PB&J Otter so much, it has been 4 years since its last airing on italian television! I even think the italian dub didn't broadcast all the episodes: I know for sure that The Funky Band/Singing Kid aired, but I don't remember seeing on TV Collector's Edition/Trading Places. I think they just skipped them (why? There isn't anything wrong with those two stories, they're still kid friendly!). The italian dub also skipped the Christmas special and one of those episodes: Poor Bubbles/Poodle Power, Tub O'Butter/El Dorado, Lost and Found/Sherlock otter. I don't know why they did that to the series. Anyways, what do you think about the episode "Look ma, no hands!"? I saw this one once back in 2008 and I absolutely LOVED it: the poodles were hilarious, I especially liked Bootsie when she fainted because she couldn't stand Butter drinking from a bottle, she thought it wasn't a polite thing to do. And the ending with the finger food was great too. I remember that episode like it was only yesterday, and it has been five year since I saw it!

Thanks! Glad you like them! Yeah, "Bye Bye Bubbles" was a lot less predictable than "Poor Bubbles." Probably the best of the three Bubbles themed episodes of the show.
They just recently took the show off the air again here, but I was able to record all the episodes before that happened! From listening to the alternate audio tracks on my recordings I've learned that the Italian dub isn't the only one that skipped over episodes. Apparently the Spanish dub skipped "Bye Bye PB&J / Babbleberry Day," the very first one! They also use a Portuguese (?) audio track for "A Hoohaw Halloween" (mislabeled as Spanish) so it's possible that this episode was also skipped in the Spanish dub. I haven't gotten around to listening to all of them...still have over 50 episodes to check, so there may be more. A friend also told me that Super RTL aired the German dub for a while but then suddenly stopped airing episodes 53-65 and kept skipping them until the channel stopped airing it in 2009! There may not be an explanation for this whole "skipping phenomenon", but it's certainly not uncommon. If only we knew why...
"Look Ma, No Hands" is a great episode. They used to air that episode a lot in reruns around 2001-2002 because I remember watching it a lot as a kid. The Snooties fainting is always funny, and I loved Munchy's extreme reaction to finding out that there were rules for the dinner party! Ah yes, the Finger Foods song. That's one of the parts that stuck with me from the time they took the show off the air in 2004 to when I finally got to rewatch it last year.
I think one of my favorite moments is in "Hoohaw is Where the Heart Is" when Cap'n Crane is waiting for Aunt Nanner and he suddenly sees Connie through his binoculars. "Huh? You're not Aunt Nanner." "That's right, dear. I'm the Ice Moose." Gotta love Connie's sarcasm!

"Hoohaw is Where the Heart Is" looked like a very realistic episode to me. I found it decent, but I love the song in it. Aunt Nanner has such a great voice that comes from her soul! As for the dub, the italian dub didn't skip the pilot episode, but I'm really sure they skipped the Ice Moose episode.
Another cool episode to watch is Gotta Dance: it's cool how the writers put four different songs of different genres (rap for Flick, Disco for Ootsie and Bootsie) and the lesson was quite good: "If you don't know how to do something, you must try to do it, you might succeed!" The following episode (Otter Pox) had an unpredictable way to solve the problem (the sipper ) and its another one I remember dearly.
So how many alternate tracks do your episodes have? Do they also have the italian track, maybe? (Well, if they don't, it's okay).
I don't know why but I find PB&J Otter still really memorable nowadays and it's in my top 5 of best cartoons ever. I remember many episodes by heart, and I haven't seen them in YEARS. It may be a preschooler cartoon, but I think it entertains older people as well! I watched Bear in the Big Blue House recently and it didn't have the same charm that the Otters had.
I'm feeling so nostalgic right now... oh, and the Dare Duck/Otters of the Wild combo! I used to watch it a lot on my DVD before someone put them on youtube. Those two episodes are amazing: I love when Miss Georgina Snootie says Butter did a good job cleaning the park from the rubbish. (I don't think there is a park on Lake Hoowah, but I loved that scene! Butter blushed! She looked so cute)
If you have more good memories to share, I'll be glad to hear them

Yeah, "Hoohaw is Where the Heart Is" as itself is just average, but I always love that part with the Cranes. The song of course is a highlight and it kinda makes me wish Aunt Nanner had more singing roles (I think the only other one she had was in "Go Away, Gorilla") in the series.
"Gotta Dance" is another great one. I loved that and "Otter Pox" as a kid when I was first discovering the series. "Gotta Dance" is probably my favorite of the two because of the song variety in it. It's a great mix of styles and it shows just how great of a show PB&J is. "Otter Pox" is good too, but for some reason I'm not as crazy about it as I was when I was little. Not sure why that's the case, but I still like it.
My episodes only have two audio tracks--English and Spanish, except for "A Hoohaw Halloween" which mislabels a Portuguese (I think) audio track as Spanish. I've found plenty of episodes in Greek and a couple in Chinese in addition to the German one I shared with you. Do your episodes have the Italian audio too? If they do I'd love to hear the Italian dub of "Hope Castle." It's my favorite episode of the show and I'd really appreciate it.
Yeah, PB&J Otter is definitely one of the best shows of its type. I think Bear in the Big Blue House is a very different show from PB&J though, so you can't really compare the two without fully analyzing them. Bear incorporates viewer interaction and having the viewer join in on the fun and making Bear seem like a really good friend (for instance, in one episode he reminds the viewer at the end that they always have a second family in the Big Blue House) whereas PB&J relies more on the educational goal (with a good mix of humor) and making the viewer the observer. I always admired Bear in the Big Blue House for its ability to use viewer interaction in such a natural way unlike today's preschool shows. Even if you don't like the show (which I respect your opinion for) it's hard to deny the more natural feeling in what Bear does unlike the mechanical interaction of Dora the Explorer where the viewer interaction basically forces down the educational content.
Hmm, I don't have any huge memories of watching PB&J Otter but I do recall a day in early October 2001 where I watched "Save Oaky Oak Tree / The Duck Who Cried Wolf" with the captions turned on. Not sure why but for some reason the whole caption thing fascinated me as a little kid so I used to watch everything with captions. I was even impressed by the part of "The Duck Who Cried Wolf" where PB&J cover their ears to block out the noise of Flick, and the captions said "No Audio." Oh, and I always thought Jelly had a great singing voice whenever she had a solo in one of the songs. I even remember having a conversation about that with my sister while we were watching "Hope Castle" as little kids!

If you have some episodes in greek could you please sent at least one of them to me? I went to Greece last year and I really like the sound of that language. And I'll also draw a scene from Butter the Ballonatic Thank you
I like your long comment, as for Bear in the Big Blue House, I don't really dislike it. I like the songs in it, maybe I just picked up the wrong episode (it was about Bear telling the children to clean up the house) but I don't find Bear's plots that appealing anymore. Sure, the characters are cute even for adults, but the story was kinda predictable to me. Anyways, I might have watched a bad episodes, so I might give Bear another chance

I'll do better than that. Here's the link to the site where I got the Greek episodes of PB&J Otter. You have to register, but they have over 30 episodes!
www.greektoons.com
Yeah Bear has great songs. I actually interviewed one of the songwriters for the show (he did songs for other shows too like Book of Pooh and It's a Big Big World) and put the video on YouTube if you're interested. Ahh, I see you watched "To Clean or Not to Clean"--that's more of a filler episode from Season 4. Not really the kind of episode you'd watch if you're taking another look at the show. I personally recommend episodes from the earlier seasons. A few of my favorites are "Love is All You Need" and "That Healing Feeling." If you need help finding 'em, I have copies that I'll gladly share with you in a PM.

Yeah, it's been suspended since late March, but luckily I made a backup channel in case that happened! UltimatePHD is the place to go for all the latest in Playhouse Disney videos.
A second channel you can find me and my friend at is TapeTrove where I'll be uploading primarily non-PHD stuff.

Hi, I heard that PB&J Otter is now airing in the USA. As you know, I've seen almost all the episodes of the cartoon, the only ones I haven't seen are Tub O'Butter/El Dorado Seat of Gold and Poor Bubbles (I've seen Poodle Power in German). I live in Italy where the show is no longer on air and I'm still interested in watching those episodes. If you have the chance to, could you please record them, upload them and send me a link so I can put them on YT? Thank you
